They wouldn't make a move if it didn't generate revenue to them.
Seriously guys, 4% stats. Lvl 80 food prolly gives more and it's not wvw-deciding. Lay back a bit and wait to see facts.
We all know Anet is terrible at explaining things.

Deal with it or play something else, they're not going to change their minds.

I assume you're saying that if it's cosmetic it's optional. That doesn't change the fact that the concept of gear grinding already exists in the game.

1. New armor skins, Thief tired of looking like a flasher or stolen watch salesman.
2. "Complimentary" gear that works with current sets not needing to carry another set for each situation.
3. Your choice, you don't want to face Agony or Ascended grind, don't. I played GW1 for two+ years before infusing armor. I didn't need to because I didn't face Mursaat. It's your choice to go into the new "deep" dungeons.
4. New ways to get Legendary, quite frankly the current prices of precursors are insulting and nearly impossible to the average gamer who doesn't want to spend RL money in game.
5. Eventual Legendary Armor, dungeon armors (except CoF animation) are meh compared to Legendary Weapons.
We have seen Anet working toward the game being successful for the long run. I hope they have a long term plan and are not just shooting from the hip or responding to whiners.

Whatever, they'll spend more money on a new game and finish that in a few days, and repeat the process. I'll be content to keep getting more and more value out of the money I spent on GW2.

I've seen enough topics where Anet has made an obvious mistake that legitimately screws over customers and players, only to have the armies of fanboys march in to tell them to shut up and deal with it and that ArenaNet has no obligation to reimburse them.
Case in point the recent topics regarding the mystic forge giving out the wrong recipies for very expensive and time consuming items (Abyssal Scepter), and an older topic where someone was asking for a refund for an accidental extra order of the game.
Now we have a situation where Anet has made a mistake that they have done to themselves that screws themselves over, and the fanboys march in again and expect the customer to babysit Anet by calling in, mail the copy back (which costs money to the consumer), and essentially reimburse Anet for their own mistake?
Look, I don't mind getting into a heated discussion with the fans about what is good or bad with this game, but I really can't stand hypocrites.

Thanks for the responses!
Actually no, it's not. THEY sent out two copies, you didn't physically break into their office and take one.
Don't be such a nancy about it. You got two copies, take advantage of that. A-net enjoy screweing people over it seems, so vise-versa is fine.

Is it wrong for people to have opinions? A few are mad about Cash-shop centered events, and I don't care if the fanboys hate them for it, I believe it's a legitiment concern... Following a game blindly doesn't make you a good player, offering criticism and showing concern for the game does.

They're annoying as hell?
90% (made up number) don't speak English. If you try to communicate with them you get trolled in their home language. Frankly they're often obnoxious arrogant and unpleasant.
There are obviously exceptions though, not everyone is like that. But enough of them for me to understand why someone would move to a US server, at least when you get trolled there it's in a language you both understand.
Basically they're the EU equivelant of the Brazilian player base the US people hate with the XOXOXO crap.

That said Arenanet could learn a thing or two about the current state of the trading post from the state of the Auction House on Diablo 3.

I'm not having a go. If you enjoyed most of that time though if you ask me, that makes GW2 a success by realistic/fair standards. Ie I paid a bit more than a normal AAA release, and got several hundred hours of enjoyment out. That's good.
People being rude to OP, knock it off please. Sounds like the game isn't for you OP, sorry it worked out that way as it did involve spending money, but if you're not enjoying anything, people offered a little advice that might help ie changing class and spec and weapons but if that doesn't work, then you didn't sound like you got as much fun for your buck, sorry to hear it. I think GW2 had a lot of really cool ideas and did a lot right but it didn't have everything and won't appeal to everyone. Plus a lot of the higher level (ie not really probed in BWEs) content felt a bit rough, I won't lie, the testing on some of the events was clearly awful with them severely and reliably bugged but I personally enjoyed it. However I can also see a few areas where it's either lacking or is actually much more grind than promised. Still the leveling style which seems to bore OP so much is what sold me on the game so I figure some of it is also just personal taste.
