a mini owl griffon

Ohh good, I'm not the only one! Owl griffons are pretty much the most amazing thing in gw2 and it saddens me that there is no mini of them.

This trailer is absolutely cringe-worthy. The in game footage was great but all of the live action crap was just atrocious. I suppose the woman turning into her character was kinda OK, although the absurdly vapid "sexay" factor takes it down a huge notch.

The thing that kills me the most about this is that the earlier GW2 trailers were categorically amazing. The game looks incredible, and the previous trailers did a great job of showing that off. Those trailers dropped my jaw and made me want to go find all of those places that were teased.

This new trailer makes me embarassed to play the game.

I'm not that high level yet but I've been having a lot of success with Greatsword main and Focus/Torch for situations where melee is too dangerous. For utility skills I run the spectral hammer and sword along with Stand Your Ground, although I'm considering subbing out SYG for the bow or shield summon. I rarely actually use the summons but when I do they are pretty amazing... it's just most of the time they aren't really necessary. I've soloed champions without too much trouble.

Note that if you get the spectral weapons you really do want to trait for them. I'm focusing on the power line, the class line, and the healing/vitality line.

Ehh, I think this build is perfectly good for small group situations. Dungeons might call for a different spec, yes, but for just standard open world PvE I don't see why more massive AoE and decent control would be inefficient. I mean, what else could you be doing with necro that would be better?

Also, just responding to your reply to a different poster: I don't think you need ground targeting for wells in sPvP. the area where combat happens is fairly constrained there and the well areas are quite large, so they are good for both point offense and defense. I use a dagger build for sPvP with point blank wells and it does quite decently. WvW I think you are correct though as there are too many situations where getting in close isn't doable.
