Guardian Bubbles not stopping projectile based Siege

16 January 2013 - 08:47 AM

The mechanical reason why an Ele can stop Katas and Trebs and a Guardian can not are clear to me. The Ele destroys the projectiles with swirling winds and the Guardian Bubbles (Shield #5, Shield of the Avenger, Sanctuary) only block projectiles, and since these projectiles are unblockable, they go through our bubbles.

Why i am in the Q&A Section of this forum:

Does anyone of you know about an official statement that A Net is looking into changing it?

They wont remove the unblockable part from Siege Projectiles, because then Mesmers could store them with Mimic or several professions can just reflect them back to the source. Noone wants Mesmers with stored Trebuchet Projectiles.

So the alternative would be to turn the Guardian Bubbles from "blocking projectiles" to "destroying projectiles" like the swirling winds from the Ele.

Of course, 2 Guardians could then shut down long range Siege 24/7, but 4 cooridinated Eles with the 20% Air Magic Trait can do it right now.

I love to play my bubble Guardian in WvW, but in 75% of the cases the bubbles do nothing in a siege, because most of the time the enemies throw non projectile AoE at your Tower/Keep. I don't need the bubbles to stop non projectile skills, it would just be nice to be able to protect your Siege Equipment as the "Master of Protection" from Enemy Siege equipment. :)

Landsharks are no Myth!

As you can see, Landsharks are no longer a Myth. Sure he is missing the laser beam on his head but at least he fears not to come out of the water.

No it is not Photoshopped, i really sat there with my Sharky in Lions Arch.

E-Mail Address changed without any warning

30 August 2012 - 04:27 PM

When i came home i just wanted to play a bit of GW2 but upon login i got the message "The provided E-Mail Address was not found" so i logged into my Mail Account and found the following:

Someone -hopefully you!- has requested to change the email address associated with your Guild Wars account.
Need help or have questions about your Guild Wars account? Visit our support site: http://support.guildwars2.com/.
Thanks!
-The ArenaNet Team

Thanks to that i can't even login to GW1 because the Accounts are linked. The fact that i can't even log in to the GW2 Site with my User ID, makes me think my Account was terminated for whatever reason.

I guess it is not possible for "me" to log in somewhere to delete my Account so i am worried that my Account just vanished into the Mists. I did not violate any policies or other A-Net Rules.

I could live with a hacker stealing all my ingame stuff but not with losing an Account i payed 70 € and 7 Years of Guild Wars 1 for.

Anyone else got his Account E-Mail changed WITHOUT even getting a verification mail to that address that you really want to change the E-Mail? If it is just "Log in > say change my E-Mail > done" it's way to easy to hack, as happend right now, obviously.

Anyone else fled from an overcrowed server already?

30 August 2012 - 06:07 AM

I was born on Blacktide but after the Great Disease (it is remembered as the "End of BWE2") killed 100% of Tyria's population, i was reborn on Riverside.

Sure it was nice to be able to explore the WvW Maps with 100% and grabbing the reward chests for free, early in the morning when Riverside held 99% of all 4 Maps, shortly before going to work. But when getting back home in the evening and hearing everytime "You shall not pass!!" when trying to enter WvW, it wasn't really funny. Even after hours in the queue i was lucky if i got a spot right before i was going to bed.

I'm not QQing about that, because it was to be expected from a Server labeled as "full" and being popular during the BWEs and STs.

I decided to move to the Fissure of Woe yesterday and it has only medium population so there are no queues for WvW even in the evening after work. Sure i can no longer just complete the WvW maps with new characters for free in the morning, because even in the morning we don't hold that much points, but i prefer being able to play in the evening over sitting the whole evening in a queue to enter WvW.

If you really want to join Riverside, you might be lucky because the spot i left behind might be still open.

So did anyone of you decide to leave your overcrowed homeserver and settle down on a less populated one aswell? "What is your story?"

Black Citadel bugged?

25 August 2012 - 09:19 AM

Hi there, i already finished Lion's Arch, Divinity's Reach and Hoelbrak with 100% but i am not able to visit some instances in the Black Citadel for the Points of Interest. Namely Hero's Canton. i even tried to group up with a Charr, but he was not able to enter either.

Anyone has the solution to this right now?
