Have you ever played WoW and went to a 25 or 40man raid? And then at any moment noticed how 15% of your screen consists of char names + guild names and lately even titles? Or Aion and went to a siege with couple of hundred of players all beating on a same boss? When I say "you can't see anything from the names alone" I don not exaggerate.
In GW2, skill efects are "too much" for my taste cause they block your view from more important stuff, like BOSS skill effects or rings on the ground, which causes players to die from those skills more easy. If you add additional name, guild name, title on the screen, that doesn't help.
