Guild Wars 2's Personal Story is still very bad. That's why I quitted in the first place. Also, this whole "Dynamic World Story" which introduces new content (and of course more gem stuff) and after a while goes *Poof* isn't appealing for people like me who have limited time to play.
400 gems doesn't change any of this. I may be a minority, but I ain't jumping back.
Or maybe, in addition to being able to create things via EverQuest Landmark, they could let us create new quests and content –approved by SOE, of course–. It would be a nice training for an aspiring writer like me.
MMOs are ambitious creatures, but I believe most of them deserve a good storyline, not just tons and tons of lore (which is usually what they recieve).
I just voted you, friend. Your illustrations are so impressive, they definitely deserve more attention! Why didn't you submit the piece about your Warrior, the one with War & Death? It was simply stunning.
Wings...? Prf, just what we needed. I never liked wings in any MMORPG, as they tend to look very out of place. Just thinking at the sight of a charr with them makes me cringe. Everyone seems to like them, tough.
Like League of Legends, DoTA... everyone says "it surprises me you aren't there!" but alas I'm not a hard-competitive person (at least in videogames). If all they offer are battles against other users online then... yes, they aren't for me.
Also, strategy games like Warcraft, Starcraft or Age of Empires. I DO enjoy the story, but the gameplay is far toooooo slow for my tastes.
Oh, and I almost forgot... Grand Theft Auto. It's hard for me to understand why it's so popular, but if people are happy... Personally, after seeing my 8-years-old cousins screaming "hey, kill that bitch and grab her money! You can also shoot that granny over there, hahahah!" I knew I wouldn't touch that thing again.
I'm almost upset about the sheer lack of charr. Here is my gorgeous cat. Kaya Bonekeeper.
Amazing charr!! Have you tried T3 chest & leggings? The rest of it is... amazing. I like the ogre bow & the fanged greatsword. Pretty cool and menacing. It reminds me of the ancient and more tribal charr of GW1.
1. Men like boobs. 2. The set is expensive, so it gives the players something to work for. I mean, black assassin/warrior/... FoW (with chaos gloves) certainly wasn't the best looking set in GW1, but it took some dedication to get so folks chased after it.
Thanks for the quick answer. Yeah, sure we like boobs... it's just that I would like to see some variety for a change. Defora's armor sets are a perfect example of amazing combinations without having to resort to the easy eye-catching human T3.
It just gives me the impression that all the women in Tyria (even if there are men behind) prefer to show bosom xD
My Guardian with all of his specs Condition| Soldier| Boons| Town Clothes| Clerics| Beserker| Travelers Tell me which one you like
Very cool, indeed! I like the one that has more pieces of Durmand Priory, and the one with the bear helmet (HoTW?). So the ones closest (Boons & Clerics) to the one using town clothes (: They give me the best "Guardian Norn" feeling.
For me the story was the main reason for abandoning the game. I think Guild Wars 2 has made me realize that I don't like MMOs simply because the story is actually poor. And that, for me, is very sad.
I don't know if it was wishful thinking, but I thought the story was going to be much better. Better writing, less stereotypical, more surprises and better voice-acting (where in the world are the EMOTIONS!?). I couldn't relate to ANY of the characters, since they fail at fleshing them before killing them or whatever.
But the worst case was, curiously, MY OWN character. I couldn't relate to him / her because yes, I created them, but had absolutely zero control over their personalities. That's not my character, at all. Yes, I could role-play, but... throwing away half of the game when it was marketed as "It's your PERSONAL story"... terrible.
I didn't get past level 40 or so, but I think it would have been better (for me) to take the Dragon Age route: have a more or less 'linear' story but let me choose what my character is going to say. After all, that's what 'Personality' is for, isn't it? Right now it's just an icon with almost no effect.
Helm - whatever, I'm not showing it. Shoulders - Prowler (Leatherworking) Coat - Outlaw (Leatherworking) Gloves - Invader (238 Badges of Honor) Legs - Outlaw (Leatherworking) Boots - Drover (Cultural T1)
This is the one I'm using right now. What do you guys think?
The good thing about this set is that, except for the gloves (which are tedious!), all the other parts will cost you only 34 s 34 c... which is INSANELY cheap. I took inspiration from our warband pal, Clawspur, when thinking about it. I think it's not bad... actually I love it.
I'm aiming towards the T3 because I'm a Ranger. But I think we have a few good things in store, if you know how to combine it!
