Update #2

Venom Sac farm is nerfed for the time being. I was watching the live stream yesterday with the Devs around Southsun, they confirmed that not all structures are staying, so other things might be coming in. I'll keep an eye on it and update as needed.

I'll be adding a Karka Shell Farm. This won't be like the other farms, but it'll be the farm that myself and my friends are using to grab Karka shells (like 108 in 3 hours, and that was slow). I'll throw that map+path  up in the near future.

The Skelk farm got a buff with the update. Much like the Venom Sac Farm, I'm not sure if it will stay like that, but the initial density of Skelk at the starting cove increased while the rest of the farm remained the same.

Hope everyone is enjoying Southsun :)

The MF bonus that comes with the Settler guy is really good for the farm. Is the Skelk farm you're referring to the Blood/Fang farm? I did it tonight for about an hour and got 6 powerfuls, many potents bloods, 8 vicious an many large fangs. Not sure how those numbers compared to before but given the bonus 200% I expected more.

The bone/claw (+corrupted lodestone) farm is the best gold per hour of all of these. The powerful blood and totems is quite profitable but don't bother with venom and dust farms as the gold per hour is about 1/4 of the corrupted lodestone. Venom really bad in fact.

BTW, the armored scales drop all along the north edge of that coast which helps keep the mobs coming, though this isn't a great cash farm either. With suitable magic find and a couple of buddies you can easily get:

Bone/Claw : 7gph
totem: 5gph
Blood: 5gph

(You can actually get significantly more than this with optimised MF and a good party)

Many of you attacking the op for harassment seem to have missed one glaring point here. He did not just do this to people going about their business. These farmers verbally attacked those who said they wanted to do the temple, then continued this harassment after they finished. Sorry they deserve what they get, and again given the same situation I would gladly join the Lyssa temple run just to teach them a lesson. This is not the first time that I have seen farmers insult even threaten players trying to honestly do events because it inturpts their farming. This should never be allowed or tolerated.

Me and my guild [LiES] have done almost all of these farms, our results were;
Vicious Fang/Vials of Powerful Blood Farm: Very fun fast-paced farm, good for Bloods, Fangs come rarely. T5 Bloods will drops from almost every other skelk.
Powerful Venom Sac Farm: This area isnt fun to farm, winders are annoying and lots of karka around, Venom Sacs not woth the trouble.
Vicious Claw and Ancient Bone Farms: This is complete Kitten, a complete waste of time. Very few enemys, and the only perk is you might get corrupted cores.
Elaborate Totem/Ancient Bone Farm: Absolutely amazing, Many Many weak enemys that respawn quickly, high drop percentages.
Piles of Crystalline Dust/Charged Lodestone + Other Lodestones: Great for dust/loot, with quick respawns, lodestone drop rate is next to nothing, i wouldnt bother with this unless you need the dust.
Armored Scales: Havn't tryed this one, but it sounds promising, if enemy respawn is fast i would deffinatly look into this.

I assume with the second Powerful Venom sac, you mean the Vicious Claw farm.

Yea, in hindsight, it probably isn't best. I'm looking around for a better one. But I do like my corrupted lodestones.

Yes i did, but overall the best way to farm T6 mats is to do the Cursed Shore event chains, the Heavy Moldy Bags drop insanely quick, and they have high T6 drop rates. Not to mention risen drop T5 and T6 Bones.

It's when things like this erupt on the forums that I like sit back and enjoy the strongly divided sides, often insulting each other without flat-out insults so as to seem as though they're not really doing anything wrong. Similarly, it's entertaining to see people who are bugging, glitching, and exploiting trying to defend themselves when they know they're cheating.
Feed me your tears, farmers and exploiters; they make my day complete.

Did you watch the whole video? Anet moved it to their exploits section, meaning Anet has effectively declared it an exploit.
And you're sitting there intentionally not finishing an event for the purposes of  farming enemies, if that is not an exploit then I don't know what is.

And it's nonsensical blinding-rage reactions like this that are all the fuel I need to end the event. I mean, I also like doing the event itself, but getting these kinds of reactions just makes it so much sweeter.

Also, consider this a reply to pretty much everything you've said.

What you're debating here is 110% pointless because there is no f'ing way Anet is going to consider completing the event, no matter what the motive, to be "harassment", or "trolling".

I will wholly admit that I intend on completing the event for the purpose of irritating the shit out of the farmers. I am on Blackgate, my name is Gerroh, go ahead, find me, report me. Do it.

Pretty sure he's not declaring himself as "noble", he's just doing what's right, as you said he is.

You, and everyone else, please stop making posts like this. Anet is not involved in some conspiracy to siphon all your money out of you. There are plenty of events where hordes of enemies are thrown at you. Orr itself has a much higher enemy density overall than most areas, meaning they want you to kill a ton of crap. Saying shit like this just makes you look insane and paranoid.

And the entire basis of this nonsense you're spewing is proven wrong by the fact that they added in guaranteed rares to the big events and the fact that people play the TP every second of every day without being banned or warned for it.

Also, it's not a bug because the event functions as it's intended to. It would be a bug if the event did not finish when all walls were down, for example. It's an exploit because the problem is 100% player-created.

I generally don't comment on things like this but after reading 3 pages of it, I must say you, Gerroh and the OP; hit it right on the head dealing with people misbehaving in-game.  I have no issue with people farming events but when their activities start to affect my game play then I will take issue with it.  I wish more people in the GW2 community would report this type of activity more often and take action accordingly.

Posted Kaaboose on 09 May 2013 - 12:50 AM

As I’m sure some of you are awear there is an event in the Temple of Lyssa that has become a popular farming exploit.
This exploit is now preventing players from finishing one of the few, well designed and balanced (Save for a few tweaks) events in GW2.
I’d like to put out a call to all my fellow GW2 players to put an end to this by completing the event. You’ll be doing your part for the community to keep inflation down, and you’ll be trolling a bunch of farmers at the same time.
Best of all you’ll get to experiance one of the better challenges GW2 has to offer.
For more details on how to do stop this farm, and on the lyssa event itself, check out this video guide here:

Thanks again guys, See you in game.

I would have to say dragonbrand or SoR. SoR's European presence isnt too great and Dragonbrand could use it as well.

Powerful blood is more profitable by killing the young karkas in the southwest corner of southsun, karka shells sell for a pretty penny.

"I'm quitting" threads do not belong on these forums. Guru is not your personal blog and no one here is famous enough to warrant a thread like this. If you really are that famous, you leaving the game would have appeared in the News section.

Thanks.
