#1927999 Warrior, outclassed in every way

Posted UssjTrunks on 13 September 2012 - 07:48 PM

- Best (direct damage) ranged profession in the game
- Best single target control in the game
- One of the best professions for clearing/holding capture points
- One of the best classes for roaming
- One of the best AOE support skills in the game (battle standard)
- One of the best professions for finishing off targets in group fights (killshot/eviscerate)

The warrior can do a lot of everything, and very effectively too. It's one of the most versatile classes.

#1920763 Looking to drop the GS signet build, what are some viable options?

Swords+Longbow, stack Condition Damage+Precision = very painful bleeds/burns.

#1892773 Any tips for my warrior's "pure" DPS build?

Why would someone waste the Adrenaline in the GS move? its maybe the worst adrenaline skill of all. You have to stack the Adrenaline to maximize pasive effects of perks and skills.

Yeah thats what I mean, there is no Fury unless he blows Signet of Rage on cooldown since the GS adrenaline skill is a waste. At that point you may as well ditch Deep Strikes and then also look into "For Great Justice" which would make the 20% crit permanent and give some might stacks in addition to allowing the use of the other signets.

10 points into Discipline for the increased dmg from boons isn't a horrible idea to look at either if you are going to be constantly running Might, Fury, and Swiftness.

I would highly recommend not building full on DPS as it is probably the most useless way to build in the entire game aside from levelling up.

Also there are definitely tweaks you can make to that build as you will either be lacking Fury uptime or wasting your adrenaline on the GS Adrenaline move.

#1892519 How deep can a warrior be? Are we doomed to the Greatsword?

I avoid the greatsword just because I see a lot of them running around.  I have used sword/shield, hammer, mace/shield, mace/sword, axe/shield, sword/axe, and longbow, all on a rotation.  Currently, I am favoring hammer for the damage mitigation of weakness (on a single strong target), the area cripple, the area stun, etc.  I love me some crowd control.

Sword/shield and longbow was my favorite for quite a while, as it gives a good leap in, can prevent runaways, has an interrupt, an invulnerability skill, and can create the only combo field that I know of for warriors.  Stacking up 11+ bleeds by myself (in PvE at level 30-) and then being able to change targets while they die without my intervention was great.

Greatsword is what you go with for tons of damage, but it doesn't feel good for much else to me.  I just couldn't get into it.

#1889280 How viable is a pure melee Warrior in explorable dungeons?

Posted NELiXERY on 06 September 2012 - 07:19 AM

That's a really interesting weapon strategy. I've never thought of that. I've always gone melee for first set and range for second set. D'you ever find yourself in trouble though, because someone's shooting at you from a roof or something, and you can't reach them, so you need a range weapon?
