...nice if they said "to everyone who prepurchased the game originally, you will also get a free upgrade."  It would be a sign of good faith towards the early adopters...

Why should they, they already have our money.

Since the ascended update they showed us that they dont care about their old playerbase especially not the gw1 one.
So why give a sign of good faith to the early supporters/prepurchasers ?

Its all about getting money fast from the new GW2/old MMO crowd. Happy Wintersday.

Wizard's Hat:

This pointy headwear will give your character that classic wizard look.

... What?

You mean to say that I've been following the game for 5 years, played the original Guild Wars for 5 years, played on every single beta weekend event and stress test and pre-purchased the game and yet the people jumping onto the bandwagon now get a free wizard's hat as well as all of the goodies I got when I bought the digital deluxe edition?

I'm usually the one defending Arenanet, but seriously, just what the hell? I bet I have to pay 500 gems for that as well!

Yeah lets listen to and put faith in what Anet says.

That's worked out pretty well so far.

Chris Whiteside has repeatedly proven to be completely wrong. I might be wrong. Let's see what happens (e.g. removing/destating ascended tier, adding guesting, making dyes account unlocked).

Just saying, that whole bull's charge combo hasn't landed on me in weeks despite many attempts. The animations are too obvious and easy to avoid.

Except any good Warrior also knows this.

I never start a fight with Bull combo, first I use rush which wastes a dodge (or hits you for 8k), then Whirling hits you for 4-5k if you don't dodge.
Bladetrail is also 4k damage + immob 1s + cripple.
If you dodged all this you're still alive but I'm oneshotting you with Bull.
If you didn't you're laying horizontal.
If for some magic reasons you're still standing, I switch to Rifle and deliver 22k damage to you.
Or I could switch to Hammer and stunlock you while dealing 3-4k damage per hit.
All this while I have 20k health, 2700 armor, 380 health every 3s, 8 sec invulnerability.

#2050687 Has shortbow fallen out of favor?

Any thief that says he doesn't like shortbow has obviously never used it properly.

Or they've used it and still think it's lame. It has nothing to do with how effective it is or how useful a tool it is, and everything to do with hating everything about it's gameplay. Like everyone else, I pretty much have a shortbow grafted into my second weapon set. They're incredibly useful and fill a lot of gaps in thief capability that are otherwise difficult or impossible to fill.

You know what else is useful and fills a lot of gaps that are otherwise difficult or impossible to fill? A minivan. Need to smuggle a bunch of people into a drive-in? Minivan. Need to haul band equipment? Minivan. Need to buy a ton of munchies and beer for a kegger? Minivan. Are they cool? No. Do you enjoy driving them? No. Are they sometimes the best choice of vehicle? Yes.

Shortbow is the minivan of the thief weapon world. Effective, but lame.
