What profession serves a better tPvP condition DPS role, Necro or Ranger?

20 February 2013 - 08:04 PM

I'll start off with saying that I'm not new to tPvP. I currently focus on Warrior and Guardian.
I've been playing a bunker necro for the past few days. I'm really liking it.

However, I'm feeling like I should try a condition build out.
I've played ranger for maybe a total of 25 hot joins. It's a lot of fun.
Both of these feel like they could do a lot of work in tPvP rolling condition builds.

Here are my questions--

- Does one profession overshadow the other for the condition DPS role?

- If yes, is player skill what divides the two?

- If they are about even, what are some examples of team comps should trigger the thought "Oh, I'm switching to Necro instead" or "Oh, Ranger is a better counter pick"?

4 Questions! Help Me Out? [Shield Wielding Professions]

25 October 2012 - 07:48 AM

It took 25 keys, but I unlocked a Ghastly Grinning Shield, and I would LOVE to use it on something eventually.

=======================

Here's my situation.

I currently rock a Sylvari tier 3 cultural Guardian, and the shield just doesn't flow with it's style.

I've seen some things about Pistol/Shield Engineer, and I've seen things about Main Hand/Shield Warriors throughout these forums.

=======================

My questions.

1. Which one of those builds would be better suited for dungeon runs?

2. If Main Hand/Shield Warrior is what you recommend, which Main Hand weapon(s) should I look into?

3. Which profession, Warrior or Engineer, have you had more successful dungeons experiences with?

4. Which profession, Warrior or Engineer, has the most potential to bring more to the average dungeon run?

=======================

I'm a very solid PvE player and understand the combat mechanics of Guild Wars 2.
Level 80 Trait options would be very much appreciated.

AC Explore Rewards after patch

Tokens are now given at the end of the runs.
Here's my party's run rewards. First run of the day for all of us.

Not sure how much gold I got from it, but I think I have a hell of a lot more than I did before? I'll run again and update.

CM Story got buffed, exp rewards got nuked

Personally, I think they overdid it.
Someone on map chat said they got 1 silver, 8k exp?
There are more enemies, and they are a hell of a lot stronger.

What are your thoughts on this?
