Well ok... I don't know what you want people to discuss then because everything you said is pretty obvious to experienced Mesmers. Maybe add that confusion is our strongest condition damage mechanic but due to mobs generally slow attack rate it is unreliable. And that max stacks of conditions significantly hurts condition damage on large world fights such as the dragons. Also add you need to go DD if you're going to farm a popular DE spot due to the "tagging" mechanic to get loot. Then change the OP to "[Guide for new Mesmers] Why you should focus on DD in PvE" and that's a wrap.

Then why do you keep drawing a hard line between "DD spec" and "Condition spec." There's no such thing as a pure condition spec. Hybrid specs do just fine in most scenarios. If you're simply stating how DD and condition damage functions in this game then the purpose of your thread was to education new mesmers or something? There's no opinion involved when you just state the obvious.

Mesmers don't really have pure condition builds though so I don't know what is the purpose of this thread. I don't really think it's fair to compare a super defensive weapon (staff) with a super offensive one (GS) either, they serve different purposes. Something like a 20/20/0/0/30 is a hybrid DD/condition damage shatter build for instance is probably up there on the DPS charts.
