In Topic: Difference between Foreign-Born and Native-Born Asura/Charr?

23 August 2013 - 01:31 PM

Personally, I'd imagine it would be like any foreigner being raised by parents in a country other than their homeland, if the parents reinforce the beliefs of their race/culture during the upbringing then they would probably have the same mind-set that is standard (for want of a better phrase) of their race. For example a Muslim family raising children in the UK would still honour their specific religious beliefs as the parents (assuming they immigrated from wherever)  would more than likely continue to uphold them wherever they resided. Knowledge of different religious festivals and such would obviously be part of the upbringing through mingling and the likes, but not necessarily influence standpoints.
But, that being said, we are talking about a game, so who the f**k can say for sure :-D .

In Topic: Uncategorized Fractal - Exploration team graveyard?

Having watched the Wooden Potatoes video regarding Scarlet ( http://www.guildwars...th/page__st__30 ) this fractal does become more intriguing IMO. I know this is all speculation based and as such is BS until proven either way, but the fractal in question here does look like a rata sum type city that has been destroyed in some way, could fractals be in actual fact time/dimensional plane travel? If so, the fractal could be an Asura city after a cataclysmic event caused by the agressors (whomever thay are) . As for the fellinoid Golems, this is probably just a byproduct of the (even more mental than usual) Raving Asura's mental decline into madness through having been alone for too long.

  • I dont know if anyone else has noticed this, but Ellen Kiel's name might imply something. Kiel - "Kiel has also been one of the traditional homes of the German Navy's Baltic fleet, and continues to be a major high-tech shipbuilding centre." (Wikipedia source). Struck me as a little bit of a clue, but might be nothing, just coincidence. Also, similiar, although admittedly much more unlikely (due to the spelling difference) but still (this is what got me thinking originally as i wasnt sure on the spelling of the word in nautical terms) - In boats and ships, keel can refer to either of two parts: a structural element, or a hydrodynamic  element (source Wikipedia).

Ah ok, I hadnt seen them say they weren't to be included, I just assumed they would be as the normal relics are, so my bad. Still, is a pity, but no biggies i guess, thanks.
