Alternatively, we QQ loud enough and constantly enough now so that that armor never gets implemented.

I hate to be that guy, but it's two days before the patch. The press articles are published. The blog post is published, with an explanation that probably was in the works from a design perspective for a while now. Loud and constant complaining at the eleventh hour will change nothing. This is likely going in, and that's that. Pullbacks on content prior to its publishing are rare.

The real power will come from constructive, measured feedback after its in, because people (including the devs) will have actual empirical evidence of the negative impact of the gear itself in a WvW setting. That's what I plan on doing, because I'm concerned about these changes as well. It's nice to know they have plans for progression in WvW, but I do think it was a mistake to not have it released in parallel with this pve content patch introducing these items.

The analog comparison for the Ascended stuff is the Radiance stuff from LOTRO. That got removed, but only after an extended amount of feedback given by players which also included data from after the changes went live. This will probably be no different.

In Topic: Improving WvW

Point adjustment as folks have mentioned would be the best improvement, as well as encouraging "comebacks" by placing in mechanics that allow servers in the hole to rally without penalizing servers who earn a win in their match through superior organization. As it is, two week matches would be a horrible decision, as many people who aren't as dedicated to WvW tend to peace out after the weekend + a couple days.

I had plenty of good times in Darkness Falls and would love to see something like that in GW2 - though I am betting it will be a while before we see something like that. The only other thing would simply be a WvW personal advancement system - I suppose the closest analog would be the Renown Rank system from DAoC and WAR.

What is the q time on jq? As bad as hod? I dont want to transfer. Just want to know.

It varies. But I can tell you it was extremely noticeable last night. I queued right as the map reset. I was in queue for 3 hours. That's never happened to me. Prior to this, the queue has averaged between 1-2 hours or so, depending on how buggy it is.

Oh, a score update for those interested:

JQ: 48193 +440
SBI: 30182 +140
HoD: 11560 +110

JQ operates differently in that instead of a driving alliance, there's a loosely organized conglomerate of guilds of all shapes and sizes working on a server-wide TS. The encouragement and results gotten from getting people into voice has been a slow burn over the past couple months or so. Most if not all the commanders are on voice of some sort, which makes for ease of coordination.

Like any other server,JQ has its fair share of the usual dramatics you'd expect in any MMO community. It'd be silly of me to sit here and say it's perfect or one big happy family, but I think everyone can agree that no matter what server you're on, at the end of the day you play with who you feel most comfortable playing with.

I'm of course biased, but I think because of the above, we're in a better place to stick around long term, but queues and transfers will become increasingly hard on JQ - and for the server that eventually dethrones us (because it will happen).
