Confused on the Improvements

I was just reading the release notes today and came upon the improvements section

Quote

"All weapon and armor skins now have the option to be converted to PvP skins. When activating a skin you will be given the choice to either apply the skin to a PvE item or convert the skin to a PvP-only item. Either action will consume the skin. This change applies to all unused weapon and armor skins in the game, regardless of when the skin was first released."

Can someone explain to me what this means?

Coolest Greatsword with Pit Fighter Exotic armor?

Hey guys, in a bit of a fashion dilemma here. I started watching Spartacus: Blood and Sand and I freaking love it. So I got the armor in that show for my wee Asura. I love the armor and all but now what Greatsword do you think fits the look? I have the Peacemaker one right now.

Mesmer or Ranger?

I'm stuck between these two classes for my next character. I know Mesmer has the upper hand in PvP while Ranger is better at PvE. I love having clones attack with me and yet I love the look of medium armor. Dangit >_< Which one is funner to play to you guys?

Can a Mace/Shield Guardian with shouts solo veterans/champions?

I'm planning on rolling a support/boon build with my Guardian using a Mace/Shield + Staff combo. Is it possible to solo veterans or champions with it? Or should I replace Staff with Greatsword or Sword/Focus?
