Looking for a guest for the Enginious podcast!

16 September 2013 - 05:12 PM

Hello everyone! Once again, we're looking for a few people who wish to do a live podcast Tuesday at 5PM PST. If you want to do an engineer-theme podcast with us at any other time, feel free to leave me a message or comment.

Our podcasts can be seen here: http://sittingonacou...2/engineer-gw2/

Along with GW2, we also have several other podcasts in League of Legends.

Thanks for your time, and if you can't attend as a guest, we appreciate your taking time to read this!

Behem Gauntlet- Secret Underwater Caverns?

28 April 2013 - 05:43 AM

Hey everyone-

Me and my co-leader found Behem Gauntlet's famed jumping puzzle today. But when I tried to jump the gauntlet, I got confused and looked for another entrance in the water. I swam into the area that the Veteran Shark was, and when searching, I found a tiny crack in the rock that seemed just big enough for a character. when I swam through, it turned into a huge amount of enormous caverns, each twisting and turning. When we got as far as we could, we continued searching the area and could not find an entrance or way to go farther.

Does anyone know what this is, or how we can go further? Every forum and website I've checked for these caverns has had nothing to say about them.

New Weapon Types- Just a little dream of mine

15 December 2012 - 11:55 AM

Now, I know that it won't be any time soon. But this is more of an opinion that I'd like to share and get feedback on more than anything else.

Guild Wars 2 is a very diverse game, simple enough for beginners but challenging enough that it's difficult to master. As a bit of a though, and though it will not be possible in the near future, I wanted to create a 'What If'.
What if GW2 featured separate weapon skills? Instead of having 3 weapon options (as is the dilemma of my Engineer) and being one thing in general, why not go along with ANet's original idea and make separate weapon skills?

What do I mean by this? I mean a choosable (or maybe bound-to-weapon) set that is based on a certain build or stat (toughness, vitality, etc.). For instance. If a warrior had a greatsword and wanted to make it more based on their vitality or toughness than power, certain greatswords would have a weapon set based on it (ie. Toughness would make it so that armor would be temporarily buffed and doing AoE damage would be easier, whereas Vitality would make dodging and kiting much easier and more diverse.)

Why have this idea? Well, it's not exactly meant to be a major improvement to the game. But rather, this idea is more of a diversity feature, to make the game more fun and have way more choices when it comes to builds. While the current idea makes weapons more useful in a certain sense (shortbows for quick and easy firing vs longbow for stronger attacks), my thinking was that the build could form the weapon into something completely different, rather than just using it for what it is commonly thought of.

Again, thanks, and I understand it's not very realistic. I just want to hear the opinions on this idea, and thought it might be a great conversation starter.

So, I just found a post on reddit that I believe everyone should see:

I believe I can speak for a large number of people from Sanctum of Rall when I say that tonight something happened that I never would have expected.
While playing WvWvW tonight against Yak's Bend and Northern Shiverpeaks, we were greatly upset to discover that someone had hacked their way into our Garrison on the Sanctum of Rall Borderlands and stole our orb. We then watched as the orb flew around the map before finally stopping in Yak's Bend's Ascension Bay to be placed upon their altar.
So far, this story is similar to a lot of the stories that have been popping up as of late, tales of hacking and cheating to get the advantage. This next part is where it gets really interesting though. We were nearly instantly contacted by the leader from FOO, one of the major guilds on Yak's Bend. Turns out that they were as bothered by the cheating as we were, and they wanted to make amends in the best way that they could.
Yak's Bend, under the leadership of FOO, collaborated with the leaders of EPIC from Sanctum of Rall in order to organize the trading of Ascension Bay. We were allowed to seize Ascension Bay entirely unopposed such that we may take back the orb that rightfully belonged to us. In exchange for this kindness, we in turn left Ascension Bay immediately after capturing the point so that the zerg from Yak's Bend could take the keep back. Aside from a few pugs, not a single attack took place from either server while this exchange took place. It was quite possibly one of the most impressive things I've seen since this game came out.
I would like to thank Yak's Bend for suggesting this exchange, and for ensuring that the deeds of the many overcame the negative actions of the few, and taking a risk in letting us seize a stronghold for the purpose of rectifying a mistake.

TL;DR Someone from Yak's Bend hacked the SoR orb from our Garrison, Yak's Bend let us take their keep, seize the orb, and leave without killing a single SoR player in order to make up for the hacker.

To me, this is incredible. To see a community like this that understands their morals and will even give up an orb because they knew it was wrong: Yak's Bend, for the players who were on the team that day,

I salute you.
