At least 4g, but you're playing the RNG game, if you're after a set result then surely it's better to use the best odds?
I'm not talking about random rare drops, I mean either buying or crafting a ton of rares to through into the MF intent on a pre cursor and selling the exotics.
When I went for a pre, I sold everything, mats, ectos, pink rings everything, piled up the gold, and bought 16 exotics each time. After an initial cock-up on my part wasting about 20g I spent another 40 or so and got what I wanted with a few exotics spare.
I only chose this route as an anet staff member on their forums has said this was the highest chance of getting what I wanted.
I still throw random rare stuff into the forge myself, but only as I'm done with needing a precursor and have enough ectos already so I don't bother salvaging rares for them.

Nice layout and information.
Healing is a waste of time though, you can't complete pve stuff or get anything, even XP, for healing. All pve content can be done with pure damage based teams, so there is not currently a need for a healer in any groups.

That is a strange mish-mash build right there, with wasted traits all over the place. Power weapons, no power traits, condition traits, dark armour?
Why do you want to tank? in this game it's a waste of time for yourself and other party members.
I like dagger and warhorn combo, nike above has made a build for them somewhere, it would do you nicely.

I have no idea why people still gamble with rares, it's been stated the highest percentage chance at a pre cursor is using 4 level 80 exotics.
If you actually want a precursor for a legendary and not to sell; use 80 exotics, not waste time and gold with rares.

Other than the original purchase price, I've not and will never use real money on gems for this game while they use RNG to determine if you receive what you want to buy. eg. I'd like 2 of the new dagger skins, only an idiot would buy gems to get lockboxes that are not certain to contain the tokens with some other RNG bits thrown in as extras. So why bother buying gems? seems like madness. If I could buy access to the skins with either gems or real money, then I'd be tempted.
I spent real money on GW1 extras like character slots and expansions, buying something clearly stated and receiving it with no RNG involved.
I think it's great that I can purchase all those things in GW2 with in game money, though I think they've shot themselves in the foot with me as I have no other reason to purchase gems now with real money.
The whole inclusion of RNG just stinks of money grabbing and puts me off wanting to buy things "to support the company" and I can't out right buy what I want anyway, surely putting people spending money this way is detrimental to a company.
Unless there's enough idiots spending real money on RNG stuff to make them think it's a good idea, sadly I think this is reality.
