As a whole, they are best designed weapons so far.
I agree that I am one of the few and I accept others like them that is just how taste works.
But for me the vast majority of weapons have not been to my taste that is what is bad.
I really liked the dagger and SB of the molten Forge but was put behind RNG.
So 2 weapons over the past 9 months I have actually wanted and not able to is bad.

But if you actually read my comment I accept that it is my taste and others vary.

This is pretty much it. I am totally cool with a new game that is unlike Guild Wars in style and combat, but they missed the things that made Guild Wars a great game. The replay-ability of Guild Wars was phenomenal. Maybe not for everyone, but for those people that liked the teamwork of combat, it was great. GW2 misses this by a mile.

Other things like a low max level and no gear progression were amazing. Again, not for everyone, but for many people it was great. It meant you never had to worry about things that really don't matter. I mean level and weapon stats are pretty irrelevant to making a good game - they just kinda increase the time played without necessarily having the underlying mechanics to make the game worth playing for that long.

That is the ultimate difference between GW1 and GW2; regardless of the content or the amount of content, the underlying mechanics of GW1 solved a big problem for many people: it was replayable. GW2 does not seem to have that same magic for many many people.

and wish you could have them in this game? Ima go yes on heroes. The game just feels so empty without them now. I end up playing GW1 more than this now because of the heroes and the Zashien quests and Nicholas the Traveler quests and taking the with me and watching the slaughter everything because of the builds I gave them. That was the FUN of GW1 I think most was building characters skill bars. This game seems to have 1 or 2 templates of skillbar and yer done.

Lots of people do this. Members of my guild regularly do all Mesmer meet-ups, and once bragged about completing Ghost Eater as an All Mes team. My response after being speechless for a very long time as to why anybody would care, was to run Seer's Path as an All Warrior team. You can talk about "optimum" builds, or efficient team setups, but 5 Warriors destroying content like that was absolutely ridiculous, naturally 5x FGJ combined with occasional stacking of Battle Standard (yes, they stack) means absolute dominance. Everyone was using Omnom Pies and either Dual Axe or Greatsword builds, so as far as healing goes everyone basically has themselves covered.

I suppose the point her is this: People like myself and the OP and other prominent posters in this thread will always strife (pun intended) to be as effective as possible, so it will always be a goal to try and maximize potential. However maximizing potential is not something that occurs in a balanced build. However, while excellence can be chased and the rewards numerous, GW2 allows success for those who don't want to try and maximize potential. You can still do most content without needing a specific setup.

I did make a mistake I'm willing to admit: treating you the way I would treat someone who I differed with but still respected.  Instead, I should have treated you like the pathetic attention whore you have demonstrated yourself to be.  I fully admit to being an elitist *, and I don't care who likes me or doesn't.  Which makes your desire to be liked and respected so humorous: the more you self-promote, the less you're liked and respected.

Healing Power is an insanely wasteful stat.  The DPS you lose by wearing clerics or apothecary will be huge, but the added power of crappy shout heals will be nothing.  It's a huge, wasteful trade off.  You're making a gigantic mistake if you spend significant resources on this idea.  I'm trying to be as helpful as possible, and I want you to seriously take my advice and avoid this move.

Levels are seen as a status symbol by some people.
It is also a rather good way to see if someone at least have some experience with their profession. Removing levels would mean people would make it more or less impossible to find pugs, since most people wouldn't want to risk doing a hard dungeon with someone that started playing 2 hours ago and don't have a clue about their profession.
So let me get this straight here: playing for rather limited amounts of time for two weeks and then leaving the game alone for six months and then coming back and picking up your character (which still is level 80 of course) means that you have a better idea of what you are doing than someone who is on their 9th alt but happens to be level 60 because they just started over?

Ok, I've thought about it, and I came to the conclusion that you are wrong. Levels as an indicator of actual skill is completely meaningless. Only some sort of braindead *ing retard would consider levels a status symbol.

I run into some seriously bad people at this on a daily basis, mostly it's the warriors that don't know what the hell they're doing. Here let me share my experience after 1000+ times of running CoF p1 for money.

Team setup. There are only a few acceptable team setups if you are doing a speedfarm. If you wanna do a slow farm that's your business and you can use whatever slow ass way of doing it you want, but for speedfarming the acceptable team compositions are as follows:

4x DPS Wars/ 1x Mesmer

3x DPS Wars/1x DPS Theif / 1x Mesmer

3x DPS Wars / 2x Mesmers (I personally don't prefer this one as the bosses should be dead in one TW, but if ur in a hurry and can't find people this will do in a pinch.)

DPS Wars should be in full exotic berserker armor using exotic berserker great swords with a superior sigil of smoldering. I'm not gonna detail the exact trait build or runes, suffice it to say your HB should hit for at least 25-30 k and the boss fights should be over in one Time Warp from the Mesmer, if not you're doing something wrong. The utilities warriors should all be using are "For great Justice" and "On My Mark", the only exception to this is if you don't have a theif and are taking the door before the final boss in which case you spec Frenzy, Endure Pain and Balanced stance. For the third utility slot you need to coordinate the group. You should have one Banner of Discipline, one Banner of Strength. The other 1-2 warriors have a choice between Endure Pain and "Shake it Off" for their last utility slot. All the warriors should be using Signet of Rage for constant fury uptime and keeping might stacks up.

Assuming you've done all of this and have a proper rune/trait build you should be hitting the bosses for 4.5-5k damage on auto attack and HB should hit for around 25-30k damage. First boss should be dead in one TW and last boss should only last a second or two after TW has ended.

any sort of knights armor is definately not acceptable for this, this is a speedrun. You should not try to outlast your opponents you should be trying to kill them fast enough that they can't take you down. With the right setup it doesn't matter that the Wars are squishy because the boss will not have enough time to kill you. That is what you must count on, do not try to add survivability beyond using endure pain.

Mesmer: Mesmer build is less important, mesmers are here to give warriors time warp and to save a few seconds by using portal at the boulders.


If you are the first warrior into the dungeon you start by opening the door, popping signet of rage for speedboost then use skill 5&3 to as fast as possible get to the Cutsceene trigger. Everyone presses 1 and you speedboost the NPC's to get up to the door faster. At the door the warriors should build adrenaline by hitting the left corner of it. Once the first door opens the mesmer should push the 2 enemies into the flame turret, you all then huddle up and do HB while popping For great justice, turrets and enemies should be dead and u take down the second turret.

You then make your way down to the boss where the warriors put out the banners(strength& discipline). As soon as he goes aggro the mesmer should push him into the wall, while he's doing this you pop signet of rage/for great justice/on my mark to get ready for the TW. The moment TW starts you go to town on him with HB followed by Whirlwind attack into the wall and his face. After that you just auto attack him. He should die in about 8-9 seconds.

Then it's a straight run across the bridge, do the flame acolyte part and then across the boulders where the mesmer teleports you. The warrior who is gonna take the Door in the next part here specs out Endure pain/frenzy/balanced stance. If you are taking the door the moment the second door opens you target the Brazier before the end boss runs off and closes the door opens. When your team gets in position in the 4 other braziers that open the door you use skill 5 to rush at it, pop balanced stance and frenzy, use hundred blades. if you have axes as secondary you might wanna swap to those to auto attack it down after that as they have a higher base damage. When u start auto attacking get ready to use endure pain as the flame thrower will be coming any second. When it's down you pop signet of rage, get the chest and head into either the left or right corner of the room and break aggro for the boss fight so you get your health back without using your self heal.

Last boss is fairly straight forward. Huddle up, pop signet of rage/for great justice/on my mark. Mesmer needs to make sure he doesn't pop TW as the boss does the KD move because that will waste precious time and force the warriors to dodge mid TW. After this it's just beating on him for 10-12 sec untill he's dead, just dodge crystals/kd and run out of the way of the flame breath attack. If he does the big AoE don't bother dodging, just keep hitting him. The damage is miniscule and you won't have to eat it more then once or twice.

If you somehow manage to go down, presumably this will happen because someone in your team is not doing proper damage and the fight is dragging on, just hit a crystal to get up.

Consumables: Of course everyone in the party should be using Potent Potion of Flame Legion Slaying. Omnomberry bar is ofc voluntary but increases the profitability of the farm.


For the OP:

Acolyte part: You have 2 choices that work well if you die here, get a rifle and use killshot/volley from outside the range of mobs. Alternatively buy Spy kits and use those to stay invisible in the middle if you prefer melee.

Staying inside braziers: Kill the mobs... Not really that hard, you can take them in one HB if you pop for great justice. Alternatively use spy kits again, but then they will go on one of your allies instead so that's not great.

So, just for kicks, I ran CoF by specifically looking for the tankiest builds I could get with the least DPS.  Water ele, longbow warrior, shortbow thief, some GS warrior in soldier's gear, and I forget who the last one was.  It took us FIVE minutes to kill the effigy alone.  That is, like, ten times longer than it normally takes.  We had to focus fire the acolytes just to kill one before the spawns wiped us all.

Explain to me again why every time I want a speed clear group I get 20 scrubs in soldiers gear whining at me?  I get rangers, of all classes, in cleric's gear ranting at me for 30 minutes straight about how cleric's gear has power so he's totally a DPS and he could totally outdps my guardian in full berserker gear if I just gave him the chance to prove it (I didn't).

And I can't believe I'd ever state that, but it's really simple - they do a job that is part of the game that I'd NEVER like to do, they fulfil the ridiculously mind-numbing farming that I'd be required to do in order to get my legendary but can't be arsed to for its sheer stupidity.

So if bots mean, I don't have to waste my time doing repetitive nonsense, I reported my last bot ~October and that's it. Bring them in! MORE BOTS please! I am quite happy with cheap T6 mats and hopefully Lodestones will go down as well - because these articles are the bane of Guild Wars 2's "no grinding" argument and bots tremendously help with that, making MY game better than Arena Net would at that point.

I hate the PvP community in GW2.

All you do is complain about "insert profession that's not mine" is OP.
Whatever happened to GuildWars being a team game.

The reason why PvP is garbage is because everyone wants a shitty LoL-clone with 1v1s and no teamwork.
Profession classes are like changing the color of your armor. There are two roles in the game and that's "bunker" and "dps."
And until the community starts pushing for things that actually matter, like a gametype that isn't a degenerate dominion clone, or buffing cross-profession combos for actual team play and strategies.
People aren't playing PvP because "spectator mode isn't available" or because "the ladder system isn't out yet." People aren't playing sPvP because it's a shitty cluster* with minimal teamwork.

What a nice representation of the borderline retarded community you are. People are going to farm regardless, it's how effective farming is that's the problem and how anet look like they're intentionally making pretty much everything hard to obtain. They honestly have no idea what they're doing on a practical level.
