I've used about 400g to get my precursor (sprak) from mystic forge by using rares. Why ?
For me it's more effective way to obtain prec, because with every 100g i used i get like 15-20 exotics which gave me back about 40-50g or which you could use to get precusor.

Exotic recipe is less effective imho, because you need to pay for every try about 10g++.

Also it's good to do meta events every day, dungeons and guild missions. It doesnt take long and even if you won't get precursor you can still find in chest nice exotics and nice amout of gold.

I hate zerkers in dungeons or fractals ;___;
They are so usless. You have to res them all the time and during that whole team can easly die. This damage is not worth.
If you want to be usefull in that kind of runs I suggest running 0/0/30/30/10 build. Many boons and healing. People really appreciate that kind of guardian in their teams.
Or if you want to do some dmg but not die easily go knight gear. You will have enough power and also nice amout of toughness.

I'm not complaining about prec drop rate in mystic forge, because I know it's a gamble. I can win or lose everything.
But still I'm a bit disappointed. I've spend so many gold, so many time and effort and still got nothing.

I'm not sure, but I can swear once or twice I saw iron chests. But I'm not sure what was there. I guess some rare. It was before The gathering storm
