SBI should have never lasted as long as it did. All the people who wanted to be leaders of the community couldn't get their shit together. Even in the early days when we started getting our asses handed to us by HoD, they would sequester themselves in meeting talking about what they were going to do. People like me who were "pugs" weren't allowed to know what was going on. Why you ask? Well, we could be spies. OK though, we'll let that go because obviously they were coming up with a plan to lead us into a new era of organization so we could hand TA their asses. Well that didn't happen.
They were happy to try and carve their place in GW2 history as The Server With No Major Alliance. There is absolutely no reason why SBI shouldn't have been able to beat HoD. In fact, TA was one of the biggest cheerleaders when it came to skill of the individual players of SBI. Organization was only one of the things that stopped us though. Another one of the hurdles was the flat out paranoia. Give me a *in break. On a borderland you can run from east to west in a little under a minute depending on your class. Norrth to South, a little over minute again, depending on your class. Are you seriously going to tell me when an outer gate on a keep goes down you aren't going to tell me where the * we are going next, even in a say? Oh hell yes you are because I might be a damn spy. So, instead of harboring and nurturing a community that is working on and communicating about a common goal, that community bred paranoia.
Let's talk about WM. Do you people honestly think the only reason WM left is because of a few whispers he got from some netnerds swinging their epeens? Remember all that shit that the person running around with Jang Gun and Bahaness was saying in English so you knew what the * to do? Well guess what smartass, he was translation all the spiteful, borderline racist shit you were saying. So yeah all those little jabs you were taking at them for communicating in their own language, message received. Did you know there were Asian guilds that wanted to join SBI after WM left? One of the reasons they decided to go elsewhere, the way WM was treated. When playing a game with a global playerbase, you are going to run into people who don't speak English as their native tongue. Some times these languages use different syntax and characters than your own. That is why their sentences read different than yours and they may word some things wrong. But guess what? They are trying, are you?
I understand more of many guilds decisions more now that we are in their position than I did when they left the server they were on. If WM was under only half the pressure we were for the last two months to keep the score up, it's a wonder they didn't leave sooner. I'm sure that there are other guilds out there that have had the same issue. Look people, you can't expect one guild to carry your whole server through a whole time slot. I think the most SF or LoD I ever saw online at one time was around 50. 50 people can't cap and defend 4 maps. You're setting yourself up for disappointment if you expect that and any guild that thinks they can do it is setting themselves up for the same thing. It reminds me of undergeared players that want to get carried through heroic dungeons and raids. Why not get off your ass and do something for yourself?
Now, where a guild is there own decision. No asshole outside that guild has any say in where it can go or when. Every guild has a damn good reason for the place they chose or choose to go. Ever think that the way they got treated in the past by a server effects that decision? What about your actions while they a re deciding? What about both? If people don't want to come to your server because of their reputation, maybe it is time to find a new server. You could try and change that attitude also. There will always be trolls and exploiters in every server in every game you ever play. Don't blame ArenaNet if you didn't leave when it was obvious you picked a supertroll/l33t hax0r server. Don't blame the playerbase if nobody wants to come to that server either. Maybe the server they went to was polite where your server was the place where everyone else said they should go. Because, you know, they are in the guild moving and know what is best for them. Ever think that maybe some people just spent 4 months trying to build a community and don't want to spend the time, effort and frustration to do it again for minimal rewards while getting shit on when things don't go the right way? And after all that, what if they go to "build a community" and then turn around and are deserted by a sizeable portion of the community. Maybe some guilds just want to go to a server where they can play to their strengths. Maybe find a server who's strengts and weaknesses compliment their own. Instead of joining a dictatorship. Server transfers have been free since release. There is plenty of blame to get spread around, some of it could be your own. Instead of whining about it, do something about it.
I know there are a lot of specifics in here, there are a lot of generalizations too. It isn't intended to be an indictment of SBI. There are a lot of servers out there that bitch and moan whenever a bunch of transfers happen. I've noticed the same servers always have the same lists of complaints every time. They have the same damn general attitude in between each time too. Some of you people act like nobody was sent out to other servers to see what the community was like there. That guy you are calling a spy, hacker or exploiter may be the guy from a guild that is looking for a new home. Remember when people were flipping out because they were seeing MMAC tags on other servers? Obviously they were spies not scouting a new home. (If you wanted MMAC on your server isn't a dicussion, just an example)
So, go ahead and sling all the mud you want. It isn't going to change anyone's mind about where they are going now. Those decisions have been made. Who knows, some of it could be smoke and mirrors trying to get your panties in a bunch. Maybe your response to what is going on now that transfers are ending is influencing someone right now as you read this. Shit man, you might have just pissed off a group of guilds that want to come to your home server because, hey, if you treated those guys that way, how are you going to treat those guys right there? And maybe if you actually read this wall of text and got pissed, you are part of the problem and not the solution that youthink you are.
I think I just totally jacked your thread victz. Didn't mean to go that far, I'm pretty sure you are just trying to start a convo.
Then again, it could all just boil down to the old mantra, "It just a game. STFU, play the game the way it's fun for you. Stop taking shit so damn seriously."

My evaluation for SF to move was this. I needed to make sure what is going to be most healthy for my guild. I consulted with the team, had an open forum and advised everyone to be non-emotional and only evaluate factual data, check queue times, familiarize yourelves with the terrain etc. We were able to scout multiple servers and have multiple meetings with other servers. We at SF industries have voted as a guild and came to a conclusion that for the sake of the GW2 balancing act, we would fit well with the JQ teams.
You guys from JQ made a great impression on me and have worked with me in the past in cracking down on crime!! I look forward to working with the teams of JQ and assisting where we can. Thank you for the gracious invite and meeting, SF accepts at this time after taking all things in to consideration.
Evaluation consisted of the following:
Queue, organization, the need for us to join, welcoming of any teams that may follow but were not asked to follow.
I look forward to our future work together

I'd also like to state that this is a long term and final move for our team. We are cheap and refuse to pay money to just move to a server

WvW is the only aspect of this game that hasn't had any update or improvement since Beta. Dev's don't talk about it on the forums (including the WvW forums) and they don't talk about it in interviews (with the exception of the most recent that said a February patch is in the works). WvW is also the only aspect of this game that has actually had people bitch the least about on the Anet forums - probably because we tend to play the game and save our bitching for each other when we win/lose. The population of WvW has gone from nearly two digit hour long queues, to a couple hour long queue, to instant queues on the weekdays, to now having rolling unmanned buffs on all three Tier 1 servers - The Elite of the Elite, at least with regards to coverage.
We all know that WvW will be dead long before the supposed "Big February WvW Patch", and the fact that Anet called it "Big" in the same article as the Halloween and Thanksgiving Events, which they also called big, without giving us a single detail on anything, to me, is disturbing and hollow.
So, what I'm asking is, if the other T1 Servers feel the same, could you, on behalf of the entire WvW community, make a post together illustrating the issues in WvW and ask for a open discussion about the future of WvW with the Dev's and Community, asap? I know that all three communities in T1 have Server Forums, and I know all three servers in T1 have large, serious WvW populations. Or did. Could the Servers and guilds in T1 get together, discuss everything together, and then make a combined post on the Anet WvW forums signed by all three servers with all the guilds involved signed under their respected servers to try to force some type of response of some kind?
It wouldn't be as much work as it seems. Just have all the WvW guilds get together on their own respected server forums, elect 2-3 representatives for their server, then have all the representatives get together on TS or on one of their forums to devise a simple yet eloquent post illustrating the frustration. From there, submit it to the official forums and when done, have the entire remaining WvW community make a post under your thread. It would take less than a week.
This may not accomplish anything even if T1 agrees to take up the task to champion WvW for us, or it may force the Anet Dev's to finally open up about WvW. Either way, I strongly believe WvW is in poor health and that an official discussion/announcement is long overdue. I also believe the only ones who can force such a discussion with Anet is the combined cooperation of SBI, JQ, and SoS.
Before the forum warriors tear into my post, please discuss this with your community and give it serious consideration. You're our only hope for renewed WvW fun.

maybe that's a bit extreme, but... yeah, let's hope the gifting of this game helps us get the population back up after holidays.
Cuz the decline in WvW activity's been annoying for every server it seems, and from what I've been reading its a reflection of disinterest towards the game as a whole (on all levels... PvE, sPvP, etc)...
So I assume/hope ANet will be doing some marketing/trial offers of their own for the holidays.
I very much hope the game -does- get an influx of new players once christmas gifts are unwrapped. We're a bit too young to be imploding... dontcha think?
And reward Arenanet with even more money for the total lack of support they have given WvW since release? No thanks.

this is actually a great idea, not forcing people into wuvwuv but giving GW2 as a gift
the problem with this game is simply, IT IS DYING
that is the biggest problem plaguing guild wars 2 no matter what anyone says otherwise, THINGS ARE NOT "BALANCED"
I've given this a lot of thought and it's what frustrates me to no end to the point of extreme disillusionment
THERE ARE NO NEW PLAYERS COMING INTO GUILD WARS 2
every single server that has received an influx of transfers GOT IT FROM OTHER SERVERS. There's no server that miraculously gets its act together to make a push. It's all transfers. Recycled players.
Server A gets 4+ guilds and breaks into tier 1 at the cost of Servers D E F G dying to the point of irrelevancy
there's simply no fresh players coming in and gw2's activity has fallen off dramatically.. until this is adressed if someone genuinely loves pvp, there is only one recourse for them which is to move to servers everyone else is moving to
this is not healthy or balance or competition and is a problem i have long thought about but find no solution to
why is there no solution? BECAUSE NO NEW FRESH PLAYERS ARE COMING IN. Attrition is the word. We are losing players by the hour more than we are gaining.
To the business people out there, there is a truth that goes: "if your outflow is greater than your inflow, upkeep will be your demise"
we are losing more than we are gaining players and the more time passes by the quicker the decline everyone experiences
maybe there is no solution, maybe the future is all of us stuck in the same 4 servers "seeking competition" seeing as how arenanet won't even look at wuvwuv until february
it's just not in their plans at all. they wanted to make something for casual players and casual play. Something anyone can easily jump into and get in some battles, get some kills and log off. It was never meant to be what we have turned it into: Endgame
hopefully there's millions of GW2 gifts being handed out this Christmas and maybe then it can revive this dying game. all evidence says otherwise specially with all the new games that have been and will be released

one cannot live in a GW2 bubble. even the most devoted arenanet groupie cannot deny the exponential decrease in activity
also, all one needs to do is spend 1 minute in Planetside 2 and cry tears of envy
I cannot play FPS. Loathe it. Gave Planetside 2 a try last week and the amount of players and activity there DWARFS anything seen in Guild Wars 2
I've played every bwe and stress test and been part of so many monumental sieges and at its height during BWE's where Siege warface routinely exceeded 8+hours .. the amount of people there compared to the amount of people playing planetside 2 opened my eyes
I just wish I can play FPS freely
