Thanks for all the replies. Some things I didn't think about condition duration vs. damage.

I actually have Lyssa runes from salvaging for ectos and mats to craft some mad king runes. So for now I'm gonna go with 4 mad king and 2 Lyssa.

I'm back home visiting family this week so unfortunately I can't actually put any of it to use just yet. But I've at least been playing around on my apps for build ideas and I believe I've got it all set for now. After the advice about glamours etc. It likely won't be perfect but it looks fun to play.

I've found so far, with the Rabid armour and mesmer skills in general, that I have more than enough toughness. if it gave vitality instead I'd happily use them.

I'm a bit confused by the other parts of your post. Do you mean that my build would not work well with the amour I have right now?
Could you give me an example of a condition build you'd use with rabid/rampager's?

Not saying what you've decided on is wrong, just giving a few points to think about when refining your build:

* For build 1, 5% of toughness into condition damage, with about 2000 toughness, nets you 100 condition damage. I hope there are other things you wanted in that trait line, otherwise that's a steep price for 100 condition damage, although having the extra toughness is pretty nice. If you are planning to invest in direct damage at all, the extra Mind Wrack damage with 10 in Dominion is worth it.

Thanks. In that case I think I'm leaning more towards Build 1. With what you've said, possibly taking 10 points out of Chaos and going into Domination for the Mind Wrack buff. 20% more damage seems good since I'll be shattering fairly often for the might stacks from Shattered Strength.

However, that will effectively lower my toughness by 150. 100 from 10 points in Chaos, and 50 from the Chaotic Dampening trait... Sigh. Couldn't they give us 80 traits? :P
