In Topic: The N Word

To answer a few questions, I sometimes "slipped" out of guild chat while doing dungeons and said the N word but only with guildies. I guess that's when someone reported me. Idk.

Also for some reason, when some people see me use the word they are like " Yet another white WoW boy wanabe black rapper". o.O  odd

Come on now, It's always been ok for black people to use the N word like you are claiming withing the black community, If a white person say N word no matter how it's used black people will be offended. I've seen it many many times and I recall on  one morning TV show where one of the host is black and the rest of the host are white and they where talking about the N word being used in music etc. The black host said the N word and everything was fine untill the one of the white host said it in a non offending way and the black host got their feelings all hurt by it. Becuase a white person said it and that if a white person says it's automactily racist and reffering back to days of slavery etc.

No, I don't get offended. I don't know why you think that black people are genetically predisposed to be offended by that word.

Being an older gamer that grew up in the 70s, even though I am caucasian, I take offense to the term being used even as some casual slang by today's youth and young adults.  I shudder whenever I hear or see it.  It has no place in society.  We can not progress as long as such crap is allowed to continue to exist in any form.

If this is truely why you were banned, I applaud anet.  However, I do think given the rather widespread use by today's youth it should not result in a ban, first offense should be a warning or a 4 hour time out (very small ban).  That should have been enough to make a point.

I have a feeling it was used in a more strong way and that is why the ban was 3 days.

On a side note it bothers me even more when European youth use it....very troubling.
I agree with you on certain parts. I don't blame anet. I too am surprised at the 3 day ban though. I was never banned before so it kind of came with a shock XD and this topic.
