Mesmers need a target to ure their clone stuff, so if you're not visible while finishing them, they can't do n e thing bout it. It's really not wise to try and dmg a downed mesmer to death because of all the confusion and the phantasm it can cast while downed, you'd just be asking to eat tons more dmg. Eles are just gonna mist form, nothing to do bout it except simply taking them by surprise with a quick haste stomp or using any of your teles to quickly track down its mistform.

Currently the dd is being overshadowed by the d/p set primarily due to blackpowder and headshot, both of which prove very effective in tpvp. Same trait set up as d/d except u bring critical haste and replace your assassin's signet with haste because its overall better if u consider the different situations. Haste helps to kill, stomp, and revive faster whereas assassin's signet only provides extra power.

I mainly play spvp, so not completely sure of the backstab spec changes for wvw, but I use Superior Sigil of Air on the mainhand dagger and Blodlust on the offhand dagger. For the bow, it's personal based on whatever you want such as Energy, Bloodlust, or even Sigil of Blood, which is what I use.

Anything more than just conquest mode! Its driving me insane running from henge to mine to waterfall to quarry and etc...
