You miss out on 20% damage if you set you enemy on fire, by not going 10 Zeal, and 25 Radiance.

I'd go full glass canon (all zerker) and hit VoJ, Save Yourselves, Stand Your Ground, just teleport in with JI and Whirling Wrath them.  Maybe get a couple of hits in and hit shelter and renewed focus to get out.

You can get fancy and use mace/torch in your second set.  Start with mace torch, and hit Zealot's Flame and switch to greatsword and hit the above mentioned combo.  Your AOE burning still pulses even after the switch to another weapon.  Once you drop your damage you can use Protector's Strike, then shelter, then focus to get out.

The other option is being more survivable at the expense of damage but using retal down your opponents or force them to stop attacking you.

My current build does this: https://forum-en.gui...rst#post1466943

Full clerics + shouts + high boon duration. Run around like a maniac and use stun breakers. That gives you a ton a lot of survivability and some decent heals on rolls. More than 7 it gets hard and you wont last that long tho.

Getting frustrated doing this now as a lot a of the time people just don't come and help. If my guild is on and i'm in a party they will, but with a pug even if you /t for help no one usually comes lol. Had a instance where enough people came to wipe the enemy but just stood at a distance watching. Too scared to engaged I imagine.

The worst was yesterday in our BL, our entire force was attacking the SW tower. The other server had been pushed back enough that some decided to take the other exit and grab the camp next to bay. I managed to hold them for quite a while till too many came. After a couple of help requests in /t the response I got from the commander was "that camp is not important" even though they were right next to it, it was 3 mins to tick and we were trying to catch up to that server for points. >_>.

I've seen Christoph post the similar build called the Healaway Guardian on the official forums.  I've found it interesting; though, I am not a fan of the video's he posts because some of his battles I watch, I'm scratching my head at his opponents wondering what are they doing.

I would like to see how viable it is against skilled foes.

You have to be smart about and cant hold a big group for very long unless you use line of sight, npcs etc etc. I have held groups of 7 and above at camps long enough for reinforcements to arrive.

Also been able to get through heavy defended assaulting forces to get to the tower and use siege thus allowing allies to run through after.

Bunkers provide exceptional front line support for large clashes - boons, wall of reflection, line of warding, sanctuary, minor heals, immobilizes etc. These things can really turn the tide of battle.

If your team is defending a tower / keep, bunkers can lure them into siege range or waiting friendlies.

Btw by bunker I refer to something that is bloody hard to take down (bunkers can still dish some damage tho if specked correctly).

I think that they are priceless in wvw. The only downsides - and to guardian as a whole tbh are:

-they are slow, friggin slow (if your team retreats you will usually be at the end and get ganked)

-no one will res you because you can go in deeper into the enemy forces than others can, and res better than they can

-damage on a guardian is not great (unless you run more zerker but then your low base hp makes it very easy for you to be spiked)

-worst of all: condition necromancers are your worst enemy as they can easily remove your boons and even worse turn all your boons into conditions and then use epidemic and spread that to 4/5 of your teammates in range...

Still fun as hell to play and enemies will start messaging you, "wtf why wont you die" haha

And you can do most of this with a non-bunker build.

But how did you hold a camp against 7+ people?  A group that big would just gank the npc and use CC to keep you out "IF" they couldn't kill you.  Its not like when you walk back into the circle they loose any capture influence.

Crowd control is also very helpful in high level fractals.

Using abilities like:

Line of Warding
Ring of Warding
Chains of Light
Hammer of Wisdom (command)
Shield of the Avenger
Bane Signet
Sanctuary (for emergencies due to long cooldown)

It gets hard to take damage so keeping enemies off you becomes more important.
