To show changes to the cookie cutter AH build for those who don't want to use a Greatsword. If Strife had included more detail about the Hammer, I'd agree that there would be no point - but he didn't, so a purpose is present.
That's why people prefer warriors. Due to the way warrior traits are set up, even a poorly built warrior still gets roughly 70-80% potential DPS, while a poorly built guardian will probably be around 50%, and a ranger or engineer may be as low as 30%. Mesmers are particularly bad for this, if you're using them particularly badly it's possible to get as low as triple digits for overall DPS.
Additionally, thanks to COF and the like, warriors at least understand that they should be DPS. Unfortunately, that doesn't fix the problem of people thinking they automatically are DPS just because they're warriors. I've had longbow healshout warriors tell me they're DPS just because they're warriors in zerker armor.
Also note: zerker armor. Cleric's weapons, shaman's accessories, zerker armor apparently equates to being a DPS for some people.
I'd like to say the Warrior mentality comes from the simplicity to achieve high DPS. This is true and untrue at the same time. As you said, so, SO many Warriors are so horribly bad and play them because they're apparently OP, you really may aswell take anything unless you're willing to gear check.
Even if gear checking, this doesn't really guarentee anything as anybody can run COF & buy ruby orbs. Usually if they have invested in Ascended, they are at least decent.
Putting aside whether it's actually possible to tank at all, this will only make pug groups worse, not better. A lot of pugs already run soldier's, cleric's, etc. defensive gear, so they don't need another tank, they need DPS. The DPS output on a 0/0/30/30/10 hammer guardian will be ridiculously low, so at best you will be another of the "bad pugs", not the guy carrying them.
Given that you constantly gush about how great warriors are for DPS, I'd have thought you would recognize the importance of having DPS over being a "tank".
This isn't purely just for PUGs, it'll work in organised groups for those who prefer Hammer over GS, especially if you're with some buddies who are learning with Berserker so naturally are still going to make errors.
Running Berserker in a bad PUG will only end in tears for you. It's fruitless to try and kill quickly with such players that you mentioned. If you're in a bad group and care to finish quickly, you really are best leaving the group.
I concede many PUG use horrible gear sets, but there are also many horribly bad players who will run full Berserker because "it r best" or "my frend sed so". Not to mention, a large proportion of Warriors (which there are bounties of them, let's be honest, you're almost guarenteed to get 1 in your group) will be in full Berserker and don't know what anything other than 100B is 'cause "dw i dun lots COF so r gud".
Fact is, you're never going to make a bad PUG good, you're better off taking the hit to your own damage, knowing you're going to get these "100B drones", but realistically need to accept you will get Soldiers/Magis etc players also.
If a Guardian wants to DPS with a Hammer, your build is definitely better. That said, I still don't know why you'd DPS with a Hammer.
Hilarious, OP says they don't like the guardian because it lacks ranged options, so you offer a class with similar ranged options because it's popular in cof and then then seemingly try to guilt trip them into taking the class. Anyway...
Pathetic, you completely manipulate not just mine, but OPs words too. OP said they "dislike all of their skills".
Not once did I suggest a Warrior because it's popular in COF. Not once. It just so happens they ARE popular, but that is not reason enough to main one. Maybe a reason to create one if you're hell bent on farming (as many people happen to) but to main one? Ludicrous. I didn't actually suggest a reason to play Warrior, as it really shouldn't be necessary to explain why they are so useful and sought after.
I also fail to see how Guardian & Warrior's ranged options are at all similar. Guardians attack with Magical properties from a range, Warriors attack with physical projectiles. Very similar eh
As for calling it guilt tripping instead of cold hard fact, I will assume you play a Ranger and are sick of being kicked on accounts of being a time wasting dead weight.
