#1936853 WTB Better medium armor skins

Posted bdew on 16 September 2012 - 09:13 AM

I've played mostly heavy or light armor classes until now, and i really liked the skin variety for them.

Especially for heavy armor, everything from being a tin can to plate bikini's out there :P

Now i'm thinking about making a thief, i've browsed a bit for what armor i can get for him, and... it's trenchcoats, trenchcoats everywhere. Ugh!

Can we please get more DIFFERENT medium armors? They all look freaking same!

I love how people shout about it being unplayable.

I am lvl 80.
I have completed every single dungeon atleast once.
I have completed the Personal Story
I have several Exotic gear pieces (Staff, Sword, Mask).
I have 100% map completion in all maps I have focused on it.

Clearly the game is not broken. If it was none of these things would have been possible.

I am too. x2.
I have too.
I have done that too. Twice (almost).
I do as well.
I have 100% map completion in every map except the ones that are bugged out.

Let me go further:

I'm trying to craft my legendaries.
I cannot because of the bugs.
Not able to access one of the highest tier, end game components of the game due to bugs = game broken.

Yeah, it may not be a big deal to many (like you), but that's what it is.

And in case people are confused, I'm not upset about it. I'm just a little annoyed. I can find other things to do while I wait, but when you're that close, it's easy to see why I feel the way I do. God people are so narrow-minded.

Man, mmo players these days are such spoiled brats. OP would never have survived in mmos 10 years ago...or any other mmo apparently, since GW2 is by FAR the least buggy launch in the history of the genre.

Stop blowing things out of proportion. I'm not raging or calling this game broken or even claiming that this game is horrible because of bugs. I'm simply stating that there are *game breaking* bugs that should be addressed, and that it wouldn't hurt to force a build in to reset the servers so that they reset.

And what the hell do you know about me and my MMO experience?

Relax, brah.

In all seriousness, There are bugs and a good amount of things to complain about. I'm still loving this game

Scumbag ANet. I can't believe their MMO has bugs a month after launch. I can do their job better than them!

#2098215 Looking For a Map

Posted Redwyrm1 on 27 November 2012 - 03:01 PM

I've looked around the internet and can't seem to find a map that has the information I can use.

To start, I'm a cheap sob. I hate spending money on waypoints. So when I travel, I Mist Port to Lions Arch and then travel to the capital that is nearest to the zone I am trying to run to. Unfortunately I haven't seen a map that shows how all zones connect. Some zones have multiple points of access from neighboring zones and in some cases these access points are kind of hidden. So that if you didn't know exactly where to look you wouldn't see them (not an obviously trail when looking at the worldmap, Bloodtide Coast to Lomar Pass has one that is in a cave and almost underwater as an example).

What I was looking for was a simple bubble map with arrows indicating points of connection between zones. When I couldn't find one I started developing my own (which is kind of fun in an old school gamer mentality), but wanted to check this forum to see if anyone has seen something like this.

Thanks

Arah is still the hardest dungeon, wear arah fullset like mine is meant to be for a worthy player who mastered the content, knowing every single bit of that place. At least the last thing to be proud as a good gamer. Looking a DEzerg tokenfarmer playing like a noob, wearing a fullset, is just pathetic and devalue the meaning of all my weeks wasted playing arah without exploits/cheats. I mean, my last pug i had a thief with fullset arah armor, we was doing a run, i asked him to use refuge. Maybe you don't believe me, i had to explain him what refuge was and how to use it.. ffs..
No more or less than cof armors, are they pro? Nah, every new dinged 80 has one in a week. Noone care of them anymore.
At least, until now, the last thing not cheated is dungeon master, still proud to leave that title under my name, till last

How do farmers wearing arah armor devalue yours? Are you wearing the armor to impress others, or are you wearing it to remind yourself of your accomplishments? If the former, then honestly, you're in the wrong game. If it's the latter, don't let other peoples' habits affect how you feel about your own efforts.

The whole point of adding Wondrous Loot gags to bosses was so people had some feeling of progression even if they can't complete a dungeon. Adding bag to Lupicus and beyond defeats the purpose. I like WvW. The people I play with don't like dungeons. I'm not a fan of getting a pug group that fails on Lupicus. I like this armor set. This gives me a way to get it.

If you want to show your "Elite" dungeon skills, go get the Dungeon Master title.

B-b-b-b..but he's so hardcore. If certain people want to get the Arah armor just because they like the skin (sounds crazy, right?) and they have a chance to do it without grinding their ass off, it's ruining his gaming experience. We wouldn't want his experience to be ruined, would we?

Seriously, Lucas, you're laughable. If you can only get a sense of pride from being the only one to wear a certain set of pixels, then you might want to rethink your life. Honestly, in what way does it bother you if other people enjoy the look of a certain armor, for whose creation, by the way, they paid?

Fix would be easy. Remove the bag from arah loottable, available just on from lupicus going to the end
Easy fix isn't it? Will be implemented? Erm..

The named medium armor set (Zho's, Ryena's, the others...) look good with the right dye combo's.

The shoulders, coat and gloves are Zho's.

the Leather set (150-225) L40 crafted armor looks extremely ranger to me.  perhaps you havent reached that level yet?  or perhaps this is all subject to opinion?

Soldiers are the only classes that work in GW2 - both in terms of how they play and how they look. Everyone else, all 6 other classes, are just a giant mess.
