Yea, but like I said, I was addressing people who specifically claimed it didn't affect them (even though they use off-hand dagger).

You guys who claim RtL doesn't effect you in PvE - you've never used it to get around maps or run past mobs? It's a nerf that sucks for any Dagger off-hand user (but more for WvWers). I also agree with previous posters that they overnerfed our most viable (and fun, imo) build. I've shelved my ele for now and have been running with my thief in PvP (Larcenous Strike is fun). All they need to do to get back to their GW1 way of "balance" is to make these big nerfs / changes happen slightly more often (not a compliment...).

We have been testing a variant of this build (25/25/0/20/0) in speed runs, and the general consensus is that the DPS is definitely top tier with warrior and bs thief but the build is a leech. Whereas warriors do roughly similar dps, they ALSO provide amazing team utility (as Kitsune mentioned) whereas this ele is a DPS machine but provides no noteworthy utility unless you build around blast finishers, and the only truly good combo field (fire) isn't convenient for a DPS group to make.
So my personal conclusion is that in a typical 3 war/1guard/1mes group replacing one of the warriors with this you might actually raise team DPS, but once you replace the second warrior with a second ele the team DPS actually drops considerably. Much the same way using a thief in lieu of a 3rd warrior is perfectly acceptable but once you add a 2nd Thief team dps takes a hit.
Bottom line, great build but don't go crazy with multiple eles in your party.

Interestingly, this seems to support the idea that a diverse party is better (not saying you argued against that, but MOST players seem to feel that a 3or4 war/1or0 guard/1 mes group is fastest. It seems like that MAY not be the case

I don't THINK lingering attunement (which just keeps bonuses around, afaik) would allow it to work. I don't have time tonight, but if no one else does it first I'll test it this weekend.

Because you (or a profession) don't have to be good to hold your own in most PvE content...sadly.
