Well, then call it whingeing instead of complaining. They have said that there will be some sort of refund, so no reason to be bothered by it before you even know what will happen.

As far as the other part is concerned, take into account why they remove MF. The reasoning is that people who used MF constantly got higher chance to get better loot than the rest of their team while contributing less to success in the same time. "This isn't in the spirit of cooperation" they say in this blog post, their tone when they first responded to the issue 2 months ago was similar. Players have been argued that way since launch. Therefore, MF gear doesn't get removed because people get too much value out of it (there will be other ways to build MF) but because it is an unfair aspect of the game. Yes, there are certainly also people who never used MF gear in the cooperative parts of the game but obviously there have been enough players who have shamelessly abused their teammates good will to make MF getting removed from gear.
With that background it doesn't matter at all how much better the drops of the group in question really were. The removal of MF is for the sake of fairness and therefore I don't think that it would be unreasonable not to compensate MF gear.

But again, they have already said that there will be a compensation, so you are fine.

"Well, then call it whingeing instead of complaining."

Whingeing- Complain persistently and in a peevish or irritating way.

err, and I've done this how? having a counter opinion to whether a player should get compensation for loss of magic find gear is complaining?
I have made no request, demands, or complaints toward  Anet, nor have a even said anything about their removal of magic find. My responses have been directed at players who say MF users should not get compensation, not at Anet, because as we both know, anet has already said they will be compensating players somehow. Please don't accuse me of things I have not done. Err, off topic, but that is a pet peeve of mine. (being accused of things I haven't done)

You could argue that owners of MF gear already got their compensation just be reaping the rewards of using it.

Anyways, I don't know what your problem is. They have said that you will get something in return, no need to complain as long as you don't even know what you will get. Maybe you can just pick new stats for your MF gear.

I wasn't aware I was complaining, I was just responding to a post.

"You could argue that owners of MF gear already got their compensation just be reaping the rewards of using it."

I don't think so, you would have to know how often a person used their magic find, and what drops they did, and did not get due to wearing magic find in order to make that kind of argument. If someone bought MF gear back in March, but their play time severely decreased after that, did they reap the benefits?

Assuming they did, it still can't be considered as compensation just because someone has gotten their monies worth on something they purchased, does not make it okay to suddenly recall the item with no compensation. Would it be okay to suddenly take away someones refrigerator because the money they have saved from using it is more than the amount they used to buy the fridge?

No, of course not. You're playing Anet's game, they're free to develop and nurture it in the direction they see fit, and based on the feedback, removal of MF and now making it an account-wide bonus will be very well received, I think. But to ask for refund of your time and costs - come on, are you even serious?

If you bought the T3 cultural armor and they finally succumbed to cutting the price in half, would you ask for a refund?

You've accomplished a lot already if you bought all those sets and have had that big "dresser" of various stat armor, and that's been an achievement on its own in the game. Use a BL salvage kit on your mf gear and get some ectos in return, that's probably the biggest refund you'll get.

Am for one very glad they are removing MF - it's about high time they did! Then I can finally get rid of my MF set and focus on only the stat sets... and if what they said about legendaries coming with customizable stats in a future update, I really hope they add legendary armor too so that I can grind towards that... oh, one armor set you can just switch stats on... utopia! :D (but a lot of horrible grinding too)

"If you bought the T3 cultural armor and they finally succumbed to cutting the price in half, would you ask for a refund?"

"Lowering price of an item ≠ removing an item/disabling said function of an item." If the price of T3 gets lowered, it would still be in game, and it will still work as it always has, so there would be no reason to ask for a refund.

it's reasonable for MF users to ask for some kind of refund or compensation on their items, and anet already said they would compensate, but no idea what that will be.There is also the issue with people who have used transmutation crystals to customize the looks of their MF armor, and who used one time or limited skins on MF gear.

Of course anet can do whatever they want, they can delete all of your characters, or strip your character if they want as well, doesn't mean it's always a good call.

I would call them. They are most likely closed on sundays, so you wouldn't be able to get a hold of them today.
Support tickets can take upwards of a week plus.

Thank you, I was looking at their contacts page looking for working hours, and a phone number I could call, but I couldn't find anything, Somehow I was still able to access the forums before they locked me out of there, and I was reading a little bit about their banning procedure. Unless I'm mistaken, they said an actual person comes and looks at you before deciding to ban, and this is highly upsetting.

it would be one thing if some glitch in the system caused be to be auto banned, which I wouldn't have much of a problem with, things happen, but knowing that an actual person came and looked at me, and judged me as a bot just stresses me out.

It was my first time farming sparks for charged loadstones, and I was directing my pet, evading, changing weapons, and just everyday general play. I don't think i was exiting any bot like behaviors afaik, and yet I was still judged as a bot, even if I do get unbanned, I'm worried that this will happen again if I ever decide to farm lodestones or something similar.

Maybe it had something to do with me being a ranger seeing as every time I see pics of bots they are rangers. The reason I'm assuming I was banned sometime while doing sparks at lyssa is because previously I was doing meta events, guild bounties, the daily, and crafting, and I don't see how any of that would get me flagged for a ban as a bot.

When I was casual, I got my exoctic armor through crafting, which required 5 ectos per piece.
