There's actually been a lot of players asking for non-immersion breaking town clothes and Anet has been adding them lately. There was a demand for this believe it or not, especially among RP'ers.
Just because your entire game revolves around combat does not mean that is so for everyone. In fact given how many town clothes they release for the gem store they evidently sell very well.
These are actually the first thing added to the gem store in a long while I'm thinking about picking up. They look very nice.

Really had me scratching my head though. I mean...really? That trend of selling everything as the foundation/groundwork of the next hot thing that is coming but they can't tell us - is just silly by now.
Not really. Everything in their six month roadmap they set out in Jan was foundational. This is WvW's foundation. Last month was the Guild foundation. Before that was the open world foundation. Nothing should be a surprise to us. They told us everything they had planned till July back in January.

I actually think Rox looks sorta adorable. I wonder if she'll be GW2's Gwen and we'll get to see her grow up and evolve over time?

Sure it's cute, but it doesn't fit at all. You're correct, it really looks like an anime kitty, not a brutal beast-woman raised as a killing machine from birth. Braham looks like a Norn, Rox does not look like a Charr.
That might be the point. She doesn't look like a brutal beast-woman raised as a killing machine from birth because maybe she WASN'T raised from birth to do so. Maybe there's a reason she isn't in a warband?
Also the description said she's young. It doesn't even sound like she's reached adulthood yet.
She already sounds a lot more interesting than the Norn character who is just like 99% of the Norn characters we have already encountered. I hope he's more interesting than he sounds.

They always said March was the real beginning to the story. They're transitioning from world events to living story and we've had a downtime of two months with some filler content. It's not a big deal guys. I guess they could have just had no story content for two months like most MMO's would. If they'd done it that way none of you would have even noticed.
