That's why there's no planned expansions when normally this is the prime time for that announcement. In fact, I wouldn't be shocked to hear this game go F2P before its second birthday. Its already gemstore strapped and most new content release have been all about the gemstore. When the digital copy sales flat-line, they'll discount the game down to 20 bucks, and then when that flat-lines out as well they'll annouce its going to F2P, while they align their focuses on the next project while claiming that support will remain for a year or two to come.
GW2 sold almost half the copies GW1 did in only 5 months, and GW1 isn't F2P even after 7.5 years, I doubt they will let GW2 go F2P.
