Exactly what duncanmix said. Say you have 2000g, and considering the listed legendaries in the TP, some have, you can afford to monopolise a market easily. Someone undercuts you, just buy him off. The profit you get from the monopoly far outweights the cost of buying out undercutters. Once you have a good butch of gold in hand (the method you got it is irrelevant, although gold buyers do exist, considering the ban waves of the past months) you can play the market every way you want with no fear of loss.

Fixed prices on hot items would just turn the TP into a bargain hunt, which, if I understand correctly, is not their intention. Although, yes, monopolising is a "very" real theme in the TP these days.

What the above user said. A better penalty system is needed, just outright banning is a bit severe imho. Well, that, and some other systems right now, are much needed ingame.

It's a free market, if anything it's the fault of the brainless people who do exactly what the smart people anticipate.
On one hand I understand the logic behind this and agree with you, the rich players are not doing something wrong with playing smart. However, in its current condition, it's pretty hard for a newcomer to enter the TP and stay relevant. Put those kind of bugs in and the economy is easily destabilised. I know what they are going for here, a player driven economy, but I'm not sure I have confidense in the players :P
