The biggest thing that would tell if it might lose people is if its WVW ranking starts to drop. Besides that I think you would just have to be lucky enough to catch it when it has a few slots open. Been trying to get into the higher servers as well but no luck so far.
The biggest problem that I've noticed when I join guilds that are active, they aren't really that talkative. They usually have some sort of circle with a few people and talk among themselves. Even you I would try to strike up a conversation or something I usually wouldn't get a reply. I'm not saying your guild does this, but for me it usually makes or breaks it for me.

I tried similiar, you can stack quite a lrge amount of bleeding but the issue comes with this....there are so many ways for people to cleanse.....become immune/immortal etc. My build had over 1400 condition damage and over 3.2k armour. The armour seems to be worthless....
That's what I was worried about as well, I know in Spvp nothing really works well for warriors. What about in WvW, I know it's a pvp section but what about pve as well?
Thieves are good for the game, they make you be careful. A danger in every corner, and that's good. In wvw players shouldn't be walking alone like they're in a park, it's a battlefield. In tourneys thieves are not even that good.
And their mechanic has nothing to do with some sort of personality type, it's just a class that relies on tactics over numbers. Where other classes rely on their def, and HP, and dps, the thief have to rely on timing, positioning and combat awareness. I am a warrior player, and I wish our class were less straight forward, and had a 10% of the skill requirement of the thief class.
Likewise, I really wish they made it more difficult for warriors. Hate the fact that anet kind of made them an entry level type profession.
