#2329667 Best utility infusion

I'm mostly debating between the gilded(20% gold from monsters) or the magic find utility. The karmic would have its purpose to but don't really see myself using karma on a regular basis for anything. The exp would be irreverent in most cases unless I wanted more skill points. I mostly do WvW/EotM, which on would be more worthwhile to use?

If you're interested in Ascended gear at all, it does take karma to pay for the obsidian shards that are part of the crafting process. If you do a lot of WvW/EotM, you might already have enough to get by but if you don't, the karma infusion will help. Otherwise, I would rather go for the straight magic find. The gold gain from monsters is not really the main source of direct gold income these days. They come from straight up rewards for doing content than random drops.

affects the droprate from loot bags AFAIK.

It does not and never has, it has been stated many times that Magic find only affect drops from creatures directly and not containers/bags.

If you do a ton of EotM Karmic makes sense as you gain a ton of karma there and it's generally less of a gamble than going magic find. That being said magic find is more worthwhile for WvW/EotM as it affects the droprate from loot bags AFAIK.

Toss a coin.

As said above, the gold drops from monsters are pretty pitiful and won't make up a large portion of your total earnings. The gilded infusion won't really go a long way. The karmic infusion used to be much more worthwhile back when it, and other bonuses, affected karma gained through consumables like vials and jugs. However, even with the karmic infusion not affecting those, it's still worthwhile if you do a lot of dungeons or fractals. Considering, though, that you mostly do WvW, karmic won't go a long way either, so really only magic find will do you any measurable good.

#2329223 How do I get one of those character forum icons?

It's simply a cropped picture of one's character from the character selection screen. ^^

#2202523 Any use for Sword/Sword?

Posted A Darker Rapture on 16 May 2013 - 01:24 PM

I tried similiar, you can stack quite a lrge amount of bleeding but the issue comes with this....there are so many ways for people to cleanse.....become immune/immortal etc. My build had over 1400 condition damage and over 3.2k armour. The armour seems to be worthless....

Likewise, I really wish they made it more difficult for warriors. Hate the fact that anet kind of made them an entry level type profession.

Not just more difficult, but more rewarding at higher level of gameplay. Is not easy to win as a warrior (at least not against good players), sometimes you just can't win, because what you do isn't that different of what a mob can do.

Thieves are on a completly different level, why bad thieves win against bad <insert class>? because even if it is a bad thief, it acts like something completly different from what you see on PvE, while other classes act similar, so even if you are a terrible pvp player, you got some sort of understanding on the game mechanics of other classes, thanks to PvE.

It's the same story as the mesmer, once you understand their gameplay, it isn't that OP. The stealth on a thief only serves for escaping then, because even if you can't see him, you know where he "should" be for the next move. But don't expect to be a glass cannon and survive a thief, their job in the meta is to be your counter, otherwise, being glass cannon in PvP would be mandatory. If you're not glass cannon, then you can survive the first attempt of a thief, and then, you know there is one, so you can play with that.

It has leap, projectile finishers, cripple, mobility, and a block. Lots of bleeds. That and longbow would make for the best condi dmg warriors can do.

You could that with Shaman, Soldier runes, 30 tactics shout heals 25 arms, 15 disc.

Ascended items only so far, bought one so far. The 50 ectos is going to kill it for the accessory.

Even small groups can easily do guild bounties/treks & rushes. My advice would be to diligently do them every week even if it means joining a guild just for access to them (you don't always have to rerisent said guild).

You can easily get 1 trinket every 2-3 weeks doing this without all the money spent on ectos.

As for what I spend em on, I'm on nearly every day at least for a couple minutes & usually get my monthly done easy enough so thats about 40 laurals a month. I also have 5 lvl 80s at this point so give it around 5 months & each should have an amulet, & one trinket + rings since I run lvl 30 + fractals.

I can predict how ANet wants it to be:
Shoulders take 3 months of daily-locked content to get,
New "super-agony-resist" stat to resist super-agony from Fractal level 60 and above,
Reskins of level 30 to 70 Green set of its armor class.

#2193411 Lacking designs

Posted Redhawk2007 on 19 April 2013 - 09:02 PM

I generally like more "realistic" armor and weapons myself. The comic bookish, anime style weapons are a big turn off to me. There is also a tremendous amount of repetition and lack of creativity in the designs. How many greatsworrds and other weapons are there where the blade looks like it is held together with leather straps, metal bands or chains? That theme has been done to death. How many asymetrical armor pieces where the left doesn't equal the right are there? Again, done to death. My favorite greatsword in the game is the Ebonblade, because it looks like a real sword. I would love to have a realistic samurai katana.

http://wiki.guildwar.../wiki/Ebonblade

I would love to see armors that are close to those of human history, like lacquered samurai armor or something like a Greek hoplite or Roman legionary. Even the stereotypical uniforms of the English Civil War or Thirty Years War look pretty interesting for medium armors:

#2192564 How weak will my damage be with all knights

Which one would you recommend, running full berserker or going with the 3 knight pieces on the armor? I'm also worried about aggro. Higher armor gives me more aggro, something I wouldn't want all the time. But don't think it would be that much to make a difference I hope.

Recommend for what? PvE, SPvP or WvW? For PvE i recommend having both. My warrior have full berserker and i always keep a helmet, leggings and chest in my inventory. What to choose is up to you. On advice, you need to know your character and the encounter if you don't want to die repetitively in full zerker and be a burden for your team. If you don't feel comfortable with it in the moment you should consider to get zerker trinket and knight gear. As you get more and more comfortable with your gameplay, you can replace gradually your knight gear for zerker.

I'd recommend the three knights pieces, but once again that's what I run for extra survivability and it's a personal preference.

Don't worry about your aggro, toughness is only one factor and it's unlikely to make that much of a difference, as you're trading some dps for toughness, and lowering your dps will reduce your aggro.  A full set of toughness gear maybe a problem, but three pieces should be fine.

Aggro list from the wiki (which may or may not be accurate).

The aggro table of a hostile NPC changes dynamically depending on a number of factors, in order of importance:
  • closest target to them
  • who is dealing damage
  • top damage dealers
  • who is using a shield / has more toughness and overall armor
  • others

I run full out zerkers everything, but that is my preference and playstyle.

#2192494 The 5 Signet Build and Why Nobody Should Use It

What about between signet of stamina and shake it off. I know SOS has a higher cooldown of but it removes all conditions, SIO has a 25s cooldown but only removes 1 condition from you and yourself, in groups it would be nice I'm sure.

SIO is a stunbreaker. Every profession needs a stunbreaker on their bar. A short CD one at that - much better than my Mesmer's 36s CD on hers.

There aren't many times where you will want to remove 2 "deadly" conditions. If you're affected by multiple conditions, it's usually a heavy bleed & a weak, short poison more often than not.
