Rather than the GTX 660 I'd recommend the Radeon R9 270X as its usually a bit faster for the same price. Its easier to suggest a card, though, if we know your exact budget, your resolution (1080p?) and what other games you want to play, if any.

Man, it would be so hard for me to stray away from EVGA/Nvidia, I'm a fanboy, I can't help it. As far as the other things, Anet's connection etc, makes sense. I appreciate all the suggestions and information.

Budget -- Probably no more that $250, and it's a 1080p monitor. As far as games, GW2 is just about the only thing I play. MAYBE a bit of Skyrim, and the occasional swtor/D3 every other blue moon.

The main factors in GW2 load times are the speed of your HDD or, in this case, SSD and your network speed. In most online games, and MMOs in particular, there is a certain amount of back and forth over the network to determine where you are loading, who else is in the zone, what, if any, event may be happening, etc. When I went from HDD to SSD, I found my load times were only reduced by about half, even though the SSD is about 10 times faster than the HDD.

These seem like the most reasonable reasons for the load times. I'll have to run some speedtests at home, and possibly upgrade my router (damn thing is falling apart). I guess I will just have to be happy with my 89% load time reduction :D

Your video card should be choking a little bit seeing as its not as high of quality as your cpu I usually base my gpu purchases off the price of my cpu. while i understand that this has nothing to do with loading times but it may help overall preformance. I'm no computer engineer but  that may help

Yeah, I had originally thought that might have had a part to do.
Looking into getting http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814130826

Yeah, and the load times for LA varies, I've just always used LA load screen as my comparison.

Most every loading screen is the same, time wise. That's what makes me think maybe the video card is choking it up. Granted some zones and/or waypoints might be 10-15 seconds.

For what it's worth, the only thing I have on my SSD is Windows, GW2, Skyrim and a few very tiny programs (7zip, ssd/cpu temp type stuff).

That's what I was afraid of.

It's installed on the SSD.

On my old build, I was getting 2-3 MINUTE load screens, so I'm not complaining, just trying to find out why it's not up to its full potential

/EDIT
I will say, after installing the Samsung Magician software and running benchmark on the SSD, I believe the read/write speeds were below what website showed. Specifically the read speeds "should" be 590 mb/s, but if I remember (at work so I'm half guessing), my read speed was somewhere around 390 - 400 mbs.

There's no point in getting the best gear in the game just so that I'll have to replace it in a few months, if the non-max gear I have is perfectly sufficient for the stuff I am doing.

This is what I have told myself for so long, and is the reason I don't buy the most expensive gear/weapons/etc. No point in having the absolute best, when the next best thing is just as good(for me).
