You could always pick out single pieces of armor you like and make a custom made armor set. That's what I always do. Like with my Mesmer (female, human) I only liked the Vigil leggings, but hated the chest piece (too much stomach) so I got a Kodan chestpiece for her instead. The helm and shoulders are also different.

It's rather revolutionary, but being the revolutionary it carries with it the troubles of the revolution. Dynamic Events is a very intriguing system, as is WvWvW, but they're the first takes on a new system. I wouldn't be surprised if a ton of future MMO games borrow these ideas and improve them based on the experiences of GW2. They could definitely be better, but they're also definitely new and interesting.

So in the end I decided to completely recolor him. Now I've gone Silver on the legs and paired that color with gold and cobalt. I had wanted gold all the time (not ancient gold, regular gold) but because of those damn shoulders I couldn't get a freaking match. Luckily, I found out that Lemon Shade gave something close enough to Gold for it to be acceptable, so I went with that. I didn't get the blue I wanted, but I did get rid of the annoying contrasts in color and the gold I wanted. My current set up is also more equipment friendly, so it matches more of my equipment, including my GS in daytime.

Pro tip: Banana is a good dye to sudstitute gold on the HoM helm. The gold on my helm in the earlier post was in fact banana.... bananas are good.
