End game guild wars 2 is about looks. Even the legendary weapons currently have the same stats as exotics which you could purhcase for 1.5 to 2 gold on the trading post.

So yes there stats are the same but the eye of rodgort has a red flame like particle effect.

If we were just talking 1,000,000 karma for 870g that is 8.7c per karma.
A Dynamic event in cursed shore gives ~390 karma
390*8.7c = 33.93silver per event. Without boosts.
Dungeons give 1200 (3 drops)+ 1800 = 2.61gold per dungeon run. Again without boosts.
Daily gives 4500 = 3.915gold for simply doing the daily achievements. Again without boosts.
Monthly gives 45000 = 39.15gold. Again without boosts.

The badges of honor take about a month of running Jumping puzzles in WvW for like 25 mins a day.
The skill points you can get a bunch doing dungeon runs which net you a lot of karma.
World Exploration you should already have a spare if you made your first legendary.

I would easily trade all that for 870g.

The reason the Halloween tonic is so high is that a lot of the early endless Halloween tonics were not tradeable. Therefore there are a lot less on the market that are tradeable which leads to a higher price and fewer quantity.

1 is safer.
10 is riskier.

It is your choice. I started with 10 and after 200 ectos I only had 40 clovers. Did 1 for the rest and really wished I had just done 1 from the start.

Neither is profitable in the long run.

As of right now everything is speculation and the best someone can give you is their opinion.

In my opinion, you should sell your precursor now unless you are close to getting your legendary. I am sitting on a staff precursor i could sell for 400-450g but I am about 100g away from finishing so I am hanging on to it otherwise I would sell and hope that the scavenger hunt they announced brings prices down.
