Coming back to my Engi and wondering what some effective builds are at the moment.

Currently, I'm running this condi grenadier: http://gw2skills.net...Y b6TAAhAkMHA-e

I made it soon after the nerfs to Zerk grenadier way back when and didn't really mess with it too much ever since. Would it still work? Any adjustments I should make?

I also noticed there will be some buffs coming to FT, so I'll definitely be keeping my eyes on that, since I quite enjoyed FT gameplay.

I roll around with turrets right now after coming back. Liking them. With change to Flamethrower Kit previewed @dulfy I will change it a bit after it goes life.

You can also probably gold the ol' builds of the past like grenades and bombs and stuff. Most likely still viable since I saw little changes to them.

As I sometimes do, I'd like to interject the ultra-casual perspective.  You say 400g is nothing?  I'm not sure that I've made that much across all my characters, since Day 1.  I currently have about 110g banked.  I'm sure I've spent a decent amount getting six characters to level 80, outfitted in exotic gear, and all the crafting professions to 400+.  Probably not 300g, though.  I don't really have enough time to play to fit into many guilds.  With just my wife and me playing as a duo, making money isn't easy.  I can show up for world events but grinding dungeons with just two people is a nonstarter.

Dunno bout that guy but I personally have not played for over a year and when I logged in I made the same day 250g with zero effort. I made over 1000g thus far since day 1 but I never actually farmed a thing or grinded anything at all.

All I did was use my economics knowledge from IRL. Like snowflakes which were 40 copper and later skyrocketed. I bought ~15000 of them during that event when they were first available. I sold them for like 4-16 silver each (depending on date. 4silver was a lot of gain but later on it was even better. All in all for 20g investment or so I got ~400g)

I had many special backpack skins and other stuff I didn't like and that was at time for like 4-7g. I sold it all for 60g. I got Flame Dye for 7g and could've sold it for 300 but I really wanted it so I kept it. I got lucky and sold rpecursor for 400g but I got scammed by certain guy so no precursor and no 400g :). Mind I did never buy any black lion keys and the only time I bought gems was first week of GW2. Later on I just changed Gold -> gems to get shop stuff. I also got ~5000 gems through PvP for winning tournaments when they were stilla vailable

At another point I saw that there was an item I could craft with mats bought from TP and sell the end product with 17silver gain net. I sold plenty of these until someone also discovered it.

It all depends whether you think short term or long term. Long term will always bring a lot more money if you have patience and knowledge to back it up.

I did not grind a single hour in this game. Even when there were Dragon Skins Tickets I would just join endless event with mobs spawning and put turrets down and loot stuff every 5-10 minutes.

I did dungeon maybe 4-5 times since GW2 was released. In story mode. Maybe once or twice in normal.

On the other hand,
Friend had over 3 million glory and he used all that to turn it into money. He got in turn like 3000 gold.

So duh :P

Yea sorry, forgot to post my update.  It worked just fine even with thumper and a shield offhand, the only reason it was tight for me was because I forgot to use life steal food and overcharged my rocket turret which kept knocking subject 7 away. Even still, I pinned him against a wall and proceded to control the fight from then on, never dipping below 20% hp.

Nice guide, thanks.  Now if only I can get Light up the Darkness done...

Overcharged Rocket Turret does not do knockback. It only Knockdowns. What you did was overcharge Thumper Turret which indeed does launch.

Would this work in rabid gear with condition runes? I hate that these stupid gauntlet tickets are soulbound.

It should. Rabid has +toughness this build needs. But then I would switch Thumper with Super Elixir Gun for that additional heal in tight spot.

Bombs have a lot of dmg without any additional power and still benefit from +cond dmg.

Yes it should work.
