Entanglement
The lethal vines that plague Brisban Wildlands have begun to spread. And now there’s trouble in the town of Prosperity, where the asuran prodigy Taimi was left alone to research the threat. As the search begins for the mysterious ley line hub, look out for new threats and learn who’s been watching from atop the mesa above Prospect Valley.
Achievements
After completing the Entanglement episode, players can showcase their tactical mastery as a hero of Tyria by completing challenging, episode-related achievements.
Rewards
  • Crafting recipes for a new ambrite weapon set can now be found on the tier vendor.
  • Players can now raise Favor of the Zephyrites to tier five in Dry Top.
  • Be on the lookout for unidentified fossilized insects found in Buried Locked Chests, which are required in the crafting of these new weapons. Someone with a keen interest in entomology should be able to help players identify what is encased within.

World Polish
  • General
    • Skritt burglars are no longer affected by Polymorph Moa.
  • Blazeridge Steppes
    • Updated the Shatterer skill, Crystal Imprisonment, to hit more targets and be unblockable. Increased the health and duration of Crystal Prison. The intent of these changes is to ease access to the Shattered achievement.
  • Frostgorge Sound
    • Expanded the Icy Grave application area during the first half of the Claw of Jormag encounter.
  • Kessex Hills
    • Fixed a bug that prevented Viathan Lake debris from respawning.
    • Removed the champion that would spawn at high scaling from the “Break centaur worker morale to prevent bridge repairs” event.

    • Tar Cleaner Bundle:

  • Players who have bound duplicate legendaries to their account should meet with Historian Dozza in Divinity’s Reach to help in her research and receive a special title.
  • The “Join in…” option in the party member contextual menu is no longer displayed on party members playing in a different region.
  • Festival Rewards Vendors and Sovereign Weapon Vendors have temporarily returned for players to spend their remaining Festival Tokens and Favors of the Festival. They are stationed at the Grand Plaza in Lion’s Arch and by the Crown Pavilion waypoint in Divinity’s Reach.

  • A new Mini Chickenado is now available in the Toys category of the Gem Store for 500 gems.
  • A new Permanent Ley Line Finisher is now available in the Upgrades category of the Gem Store for 800 gems.
  • Each race and gender now has three new hairstyles available exclusively from Self-Style Hair Kits and Total Makeover Kits in the Services category of the Gem Store.

'Mysterious Stranger' in Dry Top, any clues?

I'm sure others have seen the "Mysterious Figure" in Dry Top. Standing up high above one of the 'Lost Coin' locations, overlooking the valley below. I have not found a pathway to get to him...and I tried...and fell many times...lol.  Looks like a Centaur with a helmet on...I have my hopes...but maybe we shall soon see.

Currently at work, or I would include a screen-shot and map location. I'll try to add one tonight.

Anyone have any insights on this, heard anything in interviews on other sites or anything?

Gates of Maguuma
Over the smoldering fires of Lion’s Arch, a roar echoes from the west. Now, mysterious incursions into Brisban Wildlands have alerted Tyria’s heroes to a threat reaching across its frontiers to tear at its foundations. Mystery and adventure await those who go forth into long forgotten territory.
Achievements

After completing the Gates of Maguuma episode, players can showcase their tactical mastery as a hero of Tyria by completing challenging, episode-related achievements.

Introducing the Story Journal
  • Located inside the Hero panel, the Story Journal gives level 80 players the ability to play and replay unlocked episodes of the Living World, starting with Season 2. Additionally, it allows players to easily switch between Living World episodes and the Personal Story.
  • Episodes of the Living World are permanently unlocked when players log in when an episode is the current live release. If players happen to miss this free period for an episode, it can be unlocked later for a small gem fee via the Story Journal section of the Hero panel.
  • Completing the story of a Living World episode will unlock skill-based achievements with unique rewards that can be earned when replaying the episode.
World Polish
  • Metrica Province
    • Escort Rikkiti as she brings a message to the Lionguard assault force: Fixed a bug with this event that caused the health of spawned creatures to scale incorrectly.
  • Blazeridge Steppes
    • The Behem Gauntlet puzzle chest is now limited to once per day.

  • Rune of Strength: The 4-piece bonus has had its might duration reduced from 10 seconds to 5 seconds for both the Major and Superior versions. The 6-piece bonus has had its damage bonus reduced from 7% to 5% while under the effect of might.
Bundle Skills
Brisban Wildlands:
  • Pigment Transmogrifier (given during the “Aethervolt researchers require temporary assistants” renown heart):
    • Pellet Shot: Fixed a bug with the range indicator on this skill that caused it to always display as out of range. Increased the damage on this skill by 60%. Added a damage skill fact.
    • Pigment Destabilizer: Added a blindness skill fact.
Gem Store
  • Dragon Coffers no longer drop from Black Lion Chests.
New Items and Promotions
  • Mini Frostbite has been added to the Toys category for 400 gems.
  • Find the new Shadow Assassin Outfit in the Style category for 700 gems.

LA Arena needs to be added during this rebuilding of LA.

Since the 'Suggestions' thread has been archived on the "Official" forums, maybe a Dev lurking here will see this and maybe take it into consideration.

In the novels, we learn of the LA Arena. How people fight off their criminal charges or debts, and the whole thing being ran by Magnus. Yet it was nowhere to be found in LA at launch, which was greatly disappointing to me...not for any other reason than it was in the books and established as an attraction in LA...and it wasn't there.

The game has the background with sPvP and such to have staged battles, and I understand some development would need to be done to have some cool opponents and set up a GvG type of scenario...but wouldn't that be cool? Having betting enabled as they did in the novels on a team in a GvG or in a GvBoss type battle. maybe adding some small events in LA where you commit some crime, or unwittingly help a criminal escape and get thrown into the Arena...and add a way to volunteer your 5-man Guild to fight and to schedule your opponents so guilds could scrim(maybe allow them to turn betting on and off for their scrims), but then maybe do a monthly, or bi-monthly tournament. Random matches, single elimination and reward the winners in some way(special titles, Gems, special armor/weapon skins, you get the idea). And allow players to bet on teams and such with a ranking system.

I know most of the reconstruction stuff is already done and being tested, or deep in the works and adding this in would be a huge commitment. I know its work...its a lot of work...and I know some people would want other stuff to be worked on first, but it seems as if this could kill 2 birds with 1 stone...adding in some cool content that gives more "color" to LA and gets it even more in line with the Lore we were given in the novels and getting a GvG scenario into place that people have been pining for since launch. maybe adding it in as we go forward...

Maybe its been suggested before...but here it is again...maybe someone will listen, or read this and get inspired or take it up as a "pet" project.

New WvW players learning about Art of War Buffs, need guidance

Hi all, I am part of a small guild that is just getting into WvW. We want to be able to contribute on a scale appropriate with our Guild...to that end I have the following questions(I did look at some threads but didn't see a definitive answer. Also read the wiki, but I couldn't tell.):

Art of War Buffs:
As an example, the +5 Supply Buff.
Is this a consumable, or is it a permanent buff applied to anything we claim?
(I was running in a small group, and a commander asked if anyone could +5 Supply the Tower we had just taken. I was not familiar with how these worked.)
What about the other Stat buffs...are they consumables, or do they apply if we had them and were to claim a Tower?
Do these apply to everyone from our server in the map we claim in?
Would all the Buffs apply at once...like all the Tier II +5 Supply, +10% XP, +10% MF?
The wiki says "...apply to players near to the structure." How near? I couldn't find a more detailed explanation of that.

We are small, but thinking with 6-8 of us, we could help take a Tower, then Claim, stay, fortify, build supply, and upgrade...and defend against small groups...or at least request reinforcements and then hold out until they get there.
